SAPCID is a group of researchers and volunteers who are actively involved in dealing with infectious diseases. According to our own data and other published papers , the burden of infectious disease over the impoverished Pakistani population is growing steadily due to a variety of factors including faulty diagnosis, screening, sterilization and lack of knowledge about transmission routes, preventa
ble measures and control of these infections. At the societal level, we are in a dire need of implementing a social engineering plan for the change of culture and norms to get out of the state of denial and face the terrible epidemics of infectious disease knocking at our door. The problem of infectious disease should be addressed at the gross root level. SAPCID aims at addressing the problems of infectious disease at the technical and social level. On the social side, SAPCID will organize campaigns for promoting awareness at the gross root level. Research data from around the globe dealing with control, prevention diagnostic and newly discovered risk factors for infectious diseases will be shared with common folk. Seminars, formal and informal public gatherings, pamphlets and the electronic and print media will be utilized for awareness campaigns. Social media websites will be constructed to share information about the activities and findings of society with the general public. At the technical level, SAPCID will carry out efforts to standardize diagnostics and treatment of Infectious diseases alongwith promotion of research in the field of Infectious diseases. Various capacity building programs and seminars with presentation of innovative ideas for ID research will be organized from time to time.
