The Green Youth Movement Club, IMSciences, representing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, participated at the National Youth Roundtable on Water Resilience and Climate Action, organized by WaterAid in collaboration with the Ministry of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination.

Leading the KP team, Captain of the GYM Club, Mr. Anas Khan, put forward the collective voice of the province's youth, emphasizing that young people across KP are already actively contributing to climate action, and that the need of the hour is to connect them with government institutions, provide them with training, and equip them with the resources to channel their volunteer spirit and love for their land into meaningful, lasting impact.

As part of this engagement, our team collectively prepared and submitted a comprehensive report highlighting the water crisis in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, along with practical solutions and recommendations on how youth can be meaningfully involved in addressing it.

This is a proud moment for the Green Youth Movement Club, IMSciences, representing the voice of KP's youth on such a significant national platform and contributing to the larger conversation on climate resilience and sustainable water management.

The Green Youth Movement (GYM) Club, IMSciences, Peshawar, in strategic collaboration with EcoNexus, its key partner, successfully organized a large-scale tree plantation drive at the University of Agriculture, Peshawar (UAP), marking a significant step towards environmental sustainability and climate resilience.

The event was graced by the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including:

Dr. Usman Ghani – Director, Institute of Management Sciences (IMSciences), Peshawar
Prof. Dr. Sarzamin – Vice Chancellor, The University of Agriculture, Peshawar
Prof. Dr. Waseef Jamal – Focal Person, Prime Minister's Green Youth Movement, IMSciences Peshawar

Their presence and guidance added great value to the occasion and reflected the strong institutional support behind this environmental initiative.

Over 500 native and ornamental trees were planted during the drive, laying the foundation for a thriving hybrid forest on campus. This achievement was made possible through the dedicated efforts of GYM IMSciences and EcoNexus, with valuable support from UAP, PMYDC, the Forest Department, and Getz Pharma.

GYM Club IMSciences Peshawar, in collaboration with EcoNexus, has signed an MoU with Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) to launch the "OGDCL Climate Resilient Urban Forests Initiative, Peshawar." This landmark partnership will bring over 3,000 indigenous saplings to life across two urban forests, driving climate resilience and sustainable urban development in the region.

The agreement was signed by Mr. Sikandar Ali Sheikh (GM CSR, OGDCL), Prof. Dr. Waseef Jamal (Focal Person, GYM Club IMSciences), and Mr. Ashfaq Khan (CEO, EcoNexus), with Ms. Zilay Huma (Media Manager, GYM–HEC) and Ms. Sumbal Wahab (Senior Manager, OGDCL) in attendance.

The Green Youth Movement Club hosted an engaging session followed by a plantation drive with the wonderful kids at School Donatello.
It wasn’t just about planting trees, it was about planting awareness, responsibility, and hope.
Watching these young hands nurture nature reminded us that the future of our planet is in good hands.
Together, we learned, we grew, and we gave back to the Earth.

The Club also acknowledges with profound gratitude the esteemed presence of Ms. Samia Jabeen, Assistant Commissioner Faqirabad, and Mr. Qadeer Naseer, Director General, Capital Metropolitan Government Peshawar, whose gracious participation and encouragement added significance to the occasion.

Members of Green Youth Movement Club, IMSciences proudly participated in the plantation drive at Shahi Bagh Miyawaki Forest, contributing nearly 400 young plants to Peshawar's second Miyawaki Forest, a significant milestone inspired by the remarkable success of the city's first Miyawaki plantation.

This initiative was made possible through the collaborative efforts of IMSciences, the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Eco Nexus, Getz Pharma, and the Capital Metropolitan Government Peshawar, reflecting a shared commitment to environmental restoration and sustainable urban development.

The event was graced by Ms. Samia Jabeen, Assistant Commissioner, Faqirabad, and Mr. Qadeer Naseer, Director General, Capital Metropolitan Government Peshawar, whose presence underscored the importance of collective action in advancing environmental sustainability.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to our focal person, Mr. Waseef Jamal, for his invaluable guidance and leadership throughout the activity.
Despite the extreme summer temperatures, the enthusiasm and dedication of all participants remained unwavering. As part of our commitment to community well-being, Gym Club served its own product Lemon Squash to volunteers and gardeners alike, ensuring everyone remained refreshed throughout the plantation drive.

Every plant added today represents more than a contribution to the landscape, it is an investment in cleaner air, enhanced biodiversity, and a healthier, more resilient future for Peshawar.
