Introduction:
The Roshni Welfare society is is a non-governmental, non-political, non-profit charitable NGO registered with Government of Pakistan. Its main aim is to establish facilities to provide health care, education and social welfare services to disadvantaged or underprivileged communities living in rural areas of Paki
stan free of charge. Roshni is providing the following Services:
Health
• We are providing financial support for the prevention and control of blindness, corrective surgery for eye defects or diseases such as cataracts, medicine, patient care and community health education.
• Roshni organizes mobile eye camps/clinics in various parts of Pakistan and Kashmir
• We provide resource development through training of nurses, paramedics and other health professionals.
• We liaise with and establish partnerships with other local non-governmental organizations with similar aims and objectives;
• Health Literacy (seminars) and literature
Education:
• Roshni has established an institute for women. It offers traditional education, language classes and 4-year BA degree in bachelor of arts (humanities)
• Roshni has established several Libraries
• Reading room to improve literacy
Social Welfare:
• Roshni is providing food, shelter, basic education, social welfare and safety services for orphans, the destitute and the needy and to empower them to become self-sufficient
• Roshni provides disaster relief where necessary
Current project (work is in progress)
To meet the current and future needs, Roshni has begun to build a state-of-the-art educational complex. On land that has already been acquired, construction of the following facilities has begun since January 2015:

Health
• To purchase and install urgent required hospital equipment
• Establishment of Gynae. Deptt.
• 24 hour department of emergency
• Well-equipped laboratory
• Free ambulance services
• Complete the rest of hospital (first floor) building
• Install solar system
• Computerized the hospital manual system
• Hire full time eye surgeon and other relevant staff.
• Health Education Clinics (awareness and protection against disease)
• Blood Bank
• Community Health Nurses
• Medical Training Centre
Community
• Legal and moral Aide given to the poor, helpless and oppressed
• Self-help assistance to the unemployed
• Financial relief to those who are overburdened by debt (Soft loan). Roshni Achievements:
Since its inception Roshni has been providing FREE TREATMENT and performing FREE OPERATIONS to thousands of ill people in the District of Pakpattan, Pakistan and its surrounding communities. The Roshni has been:
• Dispensing FREE MEDICINE
• Providing FREE PRESCRIPTION GLASSES and
• Conducting FREE EYE EXAMINATIONS and operations.
• Established Women educational institutions
• Many disaster relief camps
• Several scholarships to deserving students
Amongst our significant achievements:
• Conducted Mobile Eye-Clinics in Kashmir and Pakistan every year for the past 16 years
• Served more than 5,0000 patients
• Performed more than 150 sight-restoring operations annually
• Provided FREE treatment, FREE medication, FREE eye-surgery, FREE glasses (spectacles)
• Completed the ground floor of the new Eye Hospital (Pakpattan)
