This session was organized by Foundation for Awareness and Civic Engagement (FACE) under the Digital Vehra initiative. For the first time at the village level, rural women were empowered through an awareness workshop on the safe use of the internet, smartphone technology, and the positive use of social media. In an era where online fraud and digital scams are rapidly increasing, it is essential to equip women with the knowledge and skills to protect themselves.

Under the platform of Foundation for Awareness and Civic Engagement, a structured Social Media Safety and Digital Awareness Workshop was conducted as part of the “Digital WeRa” initiative. The session focused on practical guidance regarding digital security, online fraud prevention, data privacy, cyber risk awareness, and responsible online behavior.
Through regular awareness programs, capacity-building sessions, and community briefings, we are actively equipping rural communities—particularly farmers, youth, and women—with essential digital skills to promote a safe, informed, and digitally empowered society.

The Digital Vehra was officially inaugurated with a vibrant community launch event, attracting enthusiastic participation from village residents. During the event, the objectives of the vehra were clearly presented, emphasizing its role in providing basic digital access, promoting digital literacy, and offering educational and informational opportunities for rural community. Community members, including local leaders, youth volunteers, and elders, actively engaged in discussions and learned about their roles in co-managing and sustaining the vehra. The event highlighted the community-led model and underscored the long-term sustainability of the vehra, fostering a strong sense of ownership, pride, and excitement among participants.
