Lion Ch. Muhammad Altaf Shahid visited the Cleft Lip and Palate Surgery Camp organized by Multan Crescent Lions Club, the Blood Donation Camp organized by the Leos of Multan, and the Hunger Relief Camp organized by Sultan Foundation at Railway Hospital, Multan.

These remarkable initiatives reflect the true spirit of “We Serve” by bringing hope, improving lives, saving lives through blood donation, and providing food to those in need.

🎉 4th General Body Meeting Along with Musical Program 🎶

Lions Club of Multan Midtown successfully held its 4th General Body Meeting on Wednesday, 14th October 2026, at Bar BQ Tonight, Multan, bringing together Lions members for fellowship, club affairs, and a wonderful evening of music and entertainment.

The meeting was presided over by President 2026–27, Lion Malik Hafeez Ahmad. The agenda included recitation of the Holy Quran, the National Anthem and Oath of Allegiance, minutes of the previous meeting, and addresses by the President and 2nd Vice District Governor, Lion Ch Muhammad Altaf Shahid MJF.

The gathering also celebrated the birthdays of our respected club members born in October, welcomed new members, and enjoyed dinner followed by a musical program that made the evening memorable.

🌳 TREE PLANTATION CAMPAIGN AT DISTRICT JAIL KHANEWAL 🌳

🌱 A Step Towards a Greener Pakistan!

Star Lions Club Khanewal, in collaboration with the Lions Club of Multan Midtown, organized a tree plantation campaign at District Jail Khanewal, reaffirming their commitment to environmental protection, a greener Pakistan, and a healthier future for coming generations.

The event was graced by Mr. Manzoor Hussain Kamalana, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Social Services), as the Chief Guest, while Mr. Usama Salamat, Superintendent District Jail Khanewal, was also present.

🌿 Importance of Tree Plantation

The Chief Guest appreciated the plantation initiative and emphasized that protecting the environment, reducing pollution, and achieving the vision of a greener Pakistan require collective efforts from government institutions, social organizations, and citizens.

Mr. Usama Salamat, Superintendent District Jail Khanewal, highlighted that planting trees is only the first step; their proper care and protection are equally important to ensure their healthy growth and long-term environmental benefits.

Lion Tariq Shahzad Bandesha, President of Star Lions Club Khanewal, and Lion Bismillah Iram, General Secretary, shared that the club is continuing its programme to plant thousands of fruit-bearing and shade trees across educational institutions, government facilities, and public places.

🌱 Contribution by Lions Club of Multan Midtown

As part of this collaborative community service initiative, 100 plants were generously provided by Lion Ch. Muhammad Altaf Shahid, MJF, 2nd Vice District Governor 2026–27, Lions International District 305-N1 Pakistan, on behalf of the Lions Club of Multan Midtown.

This contribution reflects the shared commitment of both Lions Clubs to environmental sustainability, community welfare, and the promotion of a cleaner and greener Pakistan.

The event was attended by Rana Mukhtar Ahmad Khan, Rana Istiqlal, Dr. Muhammad Ashraf Mughal, Rana Muhammad Azam, Rana Riasat Ali Khan, Ch. 🌿 WORLD COTTON DAY 2026 | MULTAN 🌿
A prestigious event was organized on the occasion of World Cotton Day at the Auditorium Hall, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences & Technology, Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU), Multan, jointly organized by the Institute of Agronomy, BZU Multan and Solex Chemicals (Pvt.) Ltd.
The event brought together a large number of students, farmers, growers, agricultural experts, researchers, and faculty members to highlight the importance of cotton and discuss the challenges and opportunities facing Pakistan’s cotton sector.
The Chief Guests of the event were Dr. Zubair Iqbal, Vice Chancellor, Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan, and Ch. Altaf Shahid, CEO, Solex Chemicals (Pvt.) Ltd.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Zubair Iqbal highlighted the historic importance of cotton in Pakistan’s economy and emphasized the need for practical measures to restore the country’s position as a leading cotton-producing nation. He encouraged students to complement classroom education with practical field experience, connect with farmers and soil, and contribute to modern agricultural research and technology.
Ch. Altaf Shahid, CEO Solex Chemicals (Pvt.) Ltd., emphasized that climate change has created new challenges for agriculture, particularly cotton production. He stressed the importance of collaboration among the government, farmers, agricultural industry, researchers, experts, educational institutions, and other stakeholders to develop sustainable and practical solutions.
He highlighted cotton as Pakistan’s “White Gold” and emphasized that its revival is vital for strengthening the national economy, improving farmers’ livelihoods, and ensuring the sustainability of the agricultural sector. Solex Chemicals (Pvt.) Ltd. is committed to contributing to the sustainability, improvement, and advancement of Pakistan’s agriculture through research, practical initiatives, restoration of soil productivity, and solutions to crop diseases and other agricultural challenges.
Director Agriculture Shahzad Sabir, Mirza Muhammad Aleem, Prof. Dr. Nazim, and other agricultural experts and professors also shared their valuable insights on the importance of cotton, increasing productivity, modern agricultural practices, and the challenges faced by farmers.
The speakers unanimously emphasized that the revival of cotton production requires collective efforts from the government, academia, agricultural industry, experts, and farmers.
The event concluded with a strong message that restoring Pakistan’s cotton sector is not only essential for the prosperity of farmers and the advancement of agriculture but also for the sustainable economic future of Pakistan.

I had the honour of meeting Lions Zahida Hameed Qureshi, President of Multan Special Persons Lions Club, regarding an important social welfare initiative for persons with disabilities.

During the meeting, she shared plans for establishing a dedicated Social Welfare Department facility on approximately five acres of land (40 kanal), including a dedicated building and a facility for the manufacturing of wheelchairs for deserving and needy persons.

The project aims to provide approximately 15,000 wheelchairs annually, completely free of cost, to persons with disabilities who are in need. To support they required Hydraulic Machinery from China for the manufacturing process, including modern automatic wheelchair production.

I appreciate the vision and commitment behind this meaningful project and look forward to supporting initiatives that promote dignity, independence, accessibility, and inclusion for persons with disabilities.

🌳 Khanewal Stars Lions Club — Tree Plantation Drive for a Greener Khanewal 🌱

Khanewal, 30 September 2026 — With a strong commitment to making Khanewal greener, cleaner, and more sustainable, Khanewal Stars Lions Club organized a special Tree Plantation Drive at the green area of the District Hospital, Khanewal.

The plants for this plantation initiative were generously sponsored by Lion Ch Muhammad Altaf Shahid MJF, 2nd Vice District Governor 2026–27, Lions International, District 305-N1 Pakistan, and Charter President of Lions Club of Multan Midtown.

The ceremony was graced by Mr. Manwar Hussain Kamalana, Additional Deputy Commissioner Social Services, as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Amara Ali, MS District Hospital Khanewal, also attended the event.

President Khanewal Stars Lions Club, Lion M. Tariq Shahzad Bandesha, along with Project In-Charge Rana Mukhtar Ahmad Khan, Rana Istiqlal, Dr. Muhammad Ashraf Mughal, Rana Mujahid, and other club office-bearers and members actively participated in the plantation activity.

🌱 Thousands of fruit-bearing and shade trees are being planted across educational institutions, government and public places, and other locations throughout Khanewal. The initiative aims to make the city greener and more beautiful while contributing to the reduction of environmental pollution.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Manwar Hussain Kamalana appreciated the plantation campaign and highlighted the important role of civil society, social organizations, and citizens alongside government institutions in promoting environmental protection and a Green Pakistan.

Dr. Amara Ali emphasized that planting trees is only the beginning; proper care and protection of the plants are equally important to ensure lasting and positive results from this national effort.

🦁 Lions Club of Multan Midtown – 3rd General Body Meeting

The Lions Club of Multan Midtown, District 305-N1, successfully organized its 3rd General Body Meeting (Guest Speaker Meeting) on Wednesday, 9th September 2026, at Bar BQ Tonight, Multan.

The meeting commenced with fellowship, followed by the Recitation of the Holy Quran, National Anthem and Oath of Allegiance, and the introduction of club members. The minutes of the previous General Body Meeting were presented by the Secretary.

The meeting was formally welcomed by Lion Malik Hafeez Ahmad, President (2026–27), who addressed the members and highlighted the importance of unity, fellowship and continued commitment to the Lions’ mission of service.

Lion Hina Babar presented an overview of the club’s ongoing and upcoming projects, highlighting the efforts being made by the club to serve the community and create a positive social impact.

The members were then honoured by an inspiring address from Lion Ch Muhammad Altaf Shahid MJF, 2nd Vice District Governor, who shared valuable thoughts on leadership, service and the responsibilities of Lions members.

🌟 The highlight of the evening was the inspiring talk by our distinguished Guest Speaker, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar, Vice Chancellor of the University of Southern Punjab. He shared his remarkable life experiences from different countries, speaking openly about his struggles, challenges, hard work and journey towards success. His personal experiences provided valuable lessons about perseverance, determination, leadership and never giving up in difficult circumstances. His motivational words inspired the members and made the evening truly memorable.

The meeting concluded with birthday celebrations of Lion Sehnaz Begam, Lion Dr Beenish Saeed and Lion Waqas Nasir, followed by a dinner and fellowship among the members.

Lion Ch Muhammad Altaf Shahid MJF attended the wheelchair distribution initiative organized by the Society for Special Persons (SSP) in collaboration with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Pakistan, where 550 customized wheelchairs were provided to persons with disabilities according to their individual mobility needs.
The event also witnessed the participation of Lion Zahida Hameed, President, Lions Club of Multan Special Persons, further reflecting the Lions Clubs’ commitment to service, inclusion, empowerment, and improving the quality of life of persons with disabilities. 🦁❤️♿
The ceremony was honored by the presence of Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, Provincial Minister for Human Rights and Minority Affairs, and Ms. Saira Umar, Secretary, Social Welfare & Bait-ul-Maal Department, Government of Punjab, who represented the Honorable Chief Minister of Punjab and reaffirmed the Government of Punjab’s commitment to the rehabilitation, empowerment, and social inclusion of persons with disabilities.
