For More Information Visit: http://www.mlrc-pak.comule.com Marwari Means:
1. Mark of identification, 2. History, 3. Languages, 4. Culture, 5. Art, 6. Group of lost people. Remember! Marwari doesn't mean any one ethnic group, but it means; group of many tribes of Marwar (Rajasthan). There are three varieties of Marwari language, in which one is belonging as to the 'Jodhpuri', second is from Thar/

Dhat and called 'Dhatki' and last one is not including 'Dhatki' & 'Jodhpuri' style and called 'Pakistani Marwari'. Jodhpuri is spoken by people from 'Larechi', & 'Ugniyan' Dialects (this 'Jodhpuri' is also not enough similar/ close to the Indian 'Jodhpuri' & 'Pakistani Marwari'). Pakistani Marwari is spoken by a large group of people. Experts are confused, so because of this confusion they have declared 'Jodhpuri' as an standard Dialect of Pakistani Marwari, but in Pakistan, Indian Marwari language's rule will not apply. Currently, here in Pakistan, Standard Dialect of Marwari Language is not yet declared properly, but, because of 'Dhatki' multimedia (produced Audio Video Songs in Dhatki language), people gives it respect. (Dhatki Language is close to the Pakistani Marwari Language but is not enough similar to use as Standard dialect of Pakistani Marwari. Here in Pakistan, Pakistani Marwari language's print or non-print media is not yet properly produced, excepting a few literature & Christian songs, unfortunately available this media of Pakistani Marwari Language is not in use). Bheel, Menghwal & a few other communities have different customs between each other but Theirs Mother Tongs belong to Marwar and called Marwari! The Marwari people (& speakers) live in southern Pakistan east, west, south & north of the Indus River, the area ranging from Karachi, Mirpur khas, Hyderabad & Sukkur, Shikarpur, Larkana etc… Sindh, in the south, to Multan, Rahim Yar Khan and the southern Punjab in the north & Balochistan and border side of India. There are well over 4.2 million Marwaris along with 1.5 million people speaking Marwari as a second language, so there are well over about 5.7 million Marwaris living in Pakistan. Among them 75% Marwaris living in the Sindh and Balochistan provinces and about 25% in the lower Punjab, including a short number of people from NWFP & upper Punjab also. The standard Marwari language is generally regarded as a spoken tongue. It have 4 major Dialects; Called: 1. Ugniyan, 2. Bhatipa, 3. JaxoRati, 4. Khadari, and also it have 5 regional dialects; known as: 1. Larechi, 2. Parochi, 3. Ubhechi, 4. Riyasti, 5.Utradhi, including 16 accents. Pakistan’s Marwari Language is not close enough or not similar enough to the Indian Marwari Language (and between each other mentioned tribes). Many of the people are moderately bilingual in Sindhi, Urdu & some also speak English. The literacy rate among the Marwari people is 5 – 8% in urban areas (for women it may be as low as 1%), but markedly lower in rural areas. The Marwari tribes belong to the Hindu “scheduled castes”, because of wrong tradition (created by; Brahmans) known as “untouchables” and are among the “poorest of the poor”. Most live in rural areas where they scratch out an existence as share croppers, or migrant farm workers who follow seasonal crops such as wheat, sugar cane and cotton, to earn a living. They are an oppressed and despised minority many of whom have been subjected to the indignity of slavery by the wealthy landlords for whom they work.
