*Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day Celebrated with Great Enthusiasm at Government High School Booni*

Booni (Upper Chitral): Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit at Government High School Booni, organized in collaboration with the District Administration Upper Chitral and the District Education Office Upper Chitral.

The event was organized by HUJRA Village Support Organization (HUJRA VSO) funded by Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund

The ceremony was presided over by the Principal of Government High School Booni, *Mr. Ahmed Wali Durrani, while the District Education Officer Upper Chitral, *Mr. Mahmood Ghaznavi, was the Chief Guest*

The event was attended by *Deputy Commissioner Upper Chitral Muhammad Imran Khan, ADC Moazzam Ali Bangash, DPO Upper Chitral Zia Hassan, President Ismaili Regional Council Upper Chitral Imtiaz Alam, DPO Investigation, Finance Officer Farzana, SDPO Upper Chitral Amin Shah, SDPO Mastuj Akbar Shah, Planning Officer Upper Chitral Shamsheer Ali Khan, Raja Zulfiqar Ali (ADO Sports), Youth Officer Upper Chitral* Anees-ur-Rehman, President Trade Union Subedar Rahim Khan, Zakir Muhammad Zakhmi, and other officials. Parents of the students also participated in the event.
The ceremony commenced with a flag-hoisting ceremony led by Deputy Commissioner Upper Chitral Muhammad Imran Khan and other officials. School students presented a salute to the national flag and sang the national anthem.
The formal proceedings began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a welcome address by Principal Ahmed Wali Khan Durrani, who warmly welcomed all distinguished guests and participants. Students presented Hamd, Naat, national songs, a quiz competition, and speeches in both Urdu and English.
Students who secured outstanding positions in the various competitions, as well as those who achieved excellent positions in the Grade 9 and Grade 10 examinations this year, were awarded trophies and certificates of appreciation by HUJRA Village Support Organization in recognition of their achievements.
Addressing the gathering, the HUJRA representative (Tasaur Hussain) highlighted the achievements and contributions of HUJRA Support Organization and the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund. He emphasized that climate change will be one of the major challenges in the coming years, stressing the urgent need to give special attention to tree plantation and environmental protection initiatives.
In his address, Chief Guest Mahmood Ghaznavi stated that Pakistan is a great blessing from Allah Almighty and was achieved through the countless sacrifices of our forefathers. He emphasized that it is our collective responsibility to protect and safeguard this homeland at all costs. He described the younger generation as the future builders of Pakistan and stressed the importance of education, character, and moral values.
In his concluding remarks, Principal Ahmed Wali Durrani thanked all the distinguished guests, students, and particularly and HUJRA VSO for their participation and continued support. He appreciated PPAF and HUJRA for standing shoulder to shoulder with the school on every occasion and expressed confidence that the organization would continue its support in the future as well.

The ceremony concluded with a special prayer for the integrity, stability, peace, and prosperity of Pakistan. The event ended on a high note of national pride, enthusiasm, and patriotic spirit.

👶 ہر بچے تک حفاظتی ٹیکہ — ہر گاؤں، ہر محلہ

محکمہ صحت کوہستان اپر، توسیعی پروگرام برائے حفاظتی ٹہ جات (EPI)، گاوی (Gavi) اور ہُجرہ ولیج سپورٹ آرگنائزیشن (HVSO) کے باہمی تعاون سے Intensified Outreach Activity (IOA) 2026 کے تحت تحصیل ہربن، گاؤں براہ کورٹ میں فری ویکسینیشن کیمپ کا انعقاد کیا جا رہا ہے۔

اس مہم کا مقصد 0 سے 23 ماہ عمر کے بچوں کو بروقت حفاظتی ٹیکے فراہم کرنا، زیرو ڈوز (Zero-Dose) اور کم حفاظتی ٹیکے لگوانے والے بچوں تک رسائی حاصل کرنا، اور انہیں متعدد مہلک بیماریوں سے محفوظ بنانا ہے۔

📢 Intensified Outreach Activity Week 2026
🛡️ Every Child Vaccinated, Every Community Protected

From 20–25 July 2026, the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in collaboration with HUJRA Village Support Organization (HVSO) under the Gavi CSO Project, is launching an Intensified Outreach Activity Week across District Upper Kohistan.

During this six-day campaign, vaccination teams and community mobilizers will work together to reach:

-Zero-dose children
-Under-immunized children
-Defaulter children who missed routine vaccinations
-Children living in remote and hard-to-reach communities

Every child of Kohistan Upper deserves protection from vaccine-preventable diseases, regardless of where they live. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to bring all children under five years of age to the nearest vaccination point or welcome outreach teams when they visit their communities.

HUJRA Village Support Organization (HVSO), under the Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance CSO Project, recently hosted an Orientation Session with Health Beat Journalists and Social Media Influencers in District Upper Kohistan.

The session provided an opportunity for journalists and digital content creators to discuss how accurate information can help families make informed decisions about routine immunization. Participants shared ideas on addressing vaccine myths, promoting trusted health messages, and using their platforms to encourage parents to ensure their children receive life-saving vaccines on time.

Strengthening Partnerships for Equitable Immunization: Reflections from Gavi’s Dialogue in Peshawar

HUJRA Village Support Organization (HUJRA-VSO) had the privilege of participating in Gavi’s dialogue with Dr. Sania Nishtar and the Gavi delegation in Peshawar.
The session provided a valuable opportunity to share our experiences and lessons learned in strengthening routine immunization, reaching zero-dose children, and fostering community engagement for HPV vaccination. The exchange of insights and perspectives reinforced our collective commitment to advancing equitable immunization coverage and ensuring that every child and adolescent in underserved communities has access to life-saving vaccines.

کسی بھی بچے کو صرف اس لیے حفاظتی ٹیکوں سے محروم نہیں ہونا چاہیے کہ وہ کہاں پیدا ہوا ہے۔

ذرا تصور کریں کہ آپ ایسی جگہ پر بڑے ہو رہے ہیں جہاں قریبی صحت مرکز کئی گھنٹوں کی مسافت پر ہو، راستے انتہائی دشوار گزار ہوں، اور آپ کا خاندان موسموں کے ساتھ ایک جگہ سے دوسری جگہ منتقل ہوتا رہے۔

ہزاروں بچوں کے لیے یہی روزمرہ کی حقیقت ہے۔

HUJRA Village Support Organization (HVSO) نے محکمہ صحت خیبر پختونخوا، ای پی آئی (Expanded Programme on Immunization) اور اپنے شراکت داروں کے تعاون سے یہ ثابت کیا کہ اگر عزم، تعاون اور کمیونٹی کا اعتماد ساتھ ہو تو کوئی بھی بچہ حفاظتی ٹیکوں سے محروم نہیں رہتا۔

صحت کے کارکنان، مقامی عمائدین اور رضاکاروں نے بلند و بالا پہاڑ عبور کیے، خاندانوں کا اعتماد حاصل کیا، اور کمیونٹی سرگرمیوں کو بچوں کو قابلِ انسداد بیماریوں سے بچانے کا مؤثر ذریعہ بنایا۔

✨ نتائج خود اپنی کہانی بیان کرتے ہیں:

💙 364 بچوں کو زندگی بچانے والے حفاظتی ٹیکے لگائے گئے۔
💙 67 زیرو ڈوز بچوں نے اپنی زندگی کا پہلا حفاظتی ٹیکہ حاصل کیا۔
💙 100 کمیونٹی امیونائزیشن چیمپئنز نے والدین میں آگاہی پیدا کی کہ حفاظتی ٹیکوں کی ہر خوراک کیوں ضروری ہے۔

ہر عدد کے پیچھے ایک ایسے بچے کی کہانی ہے جسے اب صحت مند زندگی گزارنے کا بہتر موقع ملا ہے۔

ہر حفاظتی ٹیکے کے پیچھے ایک ایسے والدین کا اعتماد ہے جس نے خوف کے بجائے امید کو اپنایا۔

اور ہر کامیابی کے پیچھے ایک ایسی کمیونٹی ہے جس نے ثابت کیا کہ کوئی بھی بچہ اتنا دور نہیں کہ اس تک پہنچا نہ جا سکے۔

🌍 ہر بچے کو صحت مند مستقبل کا یکساں حق حاصل ہے، چاہے وہ کسی شہر میں رہتا ہو، کسی دور افتادہ پہاڑی گاؤں میں، یا اپنے خاندان کے ساتھ موسمی نقل مکانی کرتا ہو۔
