*Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day Celebrated with Great Enthusiasm at Government High School Booni*
Booni (Upper Chitral): Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit at Government High School Booni, organized in collaboration with the District Administration Upper Chitral and the District Education Office Upper Chitral.
The event was organized by HUJRA Village Support Organization (HUJRA VSO) funded by Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund
The ceremony was presided over by the Principal of Government High School Booni, *Mr. Ahmed Wali Durrani, while the District Education Officer Upper Chitral, *Mr. Mahmood Ghaznavi, was the Chief Guest*
The event was attended by *Deputy Commissioner Upper Chitral Muhammad Imran Khan, ADC Moazzam Ali Bangash, DPO Upper Chitral Zia Hassan, President Ismaili Regional Council Upper Chitral Imtiaz Alam, DPO Investigation, Finance Officer Farzana, SDPO Upper Chitral Amin Shah, SDPO Mastuj Akbar Shah, Planning Officer Upper Chitral Shamsheer Ali Khan, Raja Zulfiqar Ali (ADO Sports), Youth Officer Upper Chitral* Anees-ur-Rehman, President Trade Union Subedar Rahim Khan, Zakir Muhammad Zakhmi, and other officials. Parents of the students also participated in the event.
The ceremony commenced with a flag-hoisting ceremony led by Deputy Commissioner Upper Chitral Muhammad Imran Khan and other officials. School students presented a salute to the national flag and sang the national anthem.
The formal proceedings began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a welcome address by Principal Ahmed Wali Khan Durrani, who warmly welcomed all distinguished guests and participants. Students presented Hamd, Naat, national songs, a quiz competition, and speeches in both Urdu and English.
Students who secured outstanding positions in the various competitions, as well as those who achieved excellent positions in the Grade 9 and Grade 10 examinations this year, were awarded trophies and certificates of appreciation by HUJRA Village Support Organization in recognition of their achievements.
Addressing the gathering, the HUJRA representative (Tasaur Hussain) highlighted the achievements and contributions of HUJRA Support Organization and the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund. He emphasized that climate change will be one of the major challenges in the coming years, stressing the urgent need to give special attention to tree plantation and environmental protection initiatives.
In his address, Chief Guest Mahmood Ghaznavi stated that Pakistan is a great blessing from Allah Almighty and was achieved through the countless sacrifices of our forefathers. He emphasized that it is our collective responsibility to protect and safeguard this homeland at all costs. He described the younger generation as the future builders of Pakistan and stressed the importance of education, character, and moral values.
In his concluding remarks, Principal Ahmed Wali Durrani thanked all the distinguished guests, students, and particularly and HUJRA VSO for their participation and continued support. He appreciated PPAF and HUJRA for standing shoulder to shoulder with the school on every occasion and expressed confidence that the organization would continue its support in the future as well.
The ceremony concluded with a special prayer for the integrity, stability, peace, and prosperity of Pakistan. The event ended on a high note of national pride, enthusiasm, and patriotic spirit.
