Working Methodology:
OHD gives priority to Developmental works through collective participation. OHD believes that bringing the marginalized groups in development is possible only through their direct involvement in the process. So the development activities for the target groups must be implemented by themselves. For this, the organization plays the role of facilitator to create an appropriate environment and opportunities for such communities. While playing this role, the organization strives for collective efforts by maintaining mutual understanding and coordination with like-minded organisations having similar objectives. Nevertheless, OHD works to achieve its goals and objectives by mainstreaming the marginalised groups, including Pakistani youth, in its endeavours in order to bring about development for them under the auspices of human rights humanitarian affairs interventions. This is done on different levels including advocating for their rights through advocacy and lobbying with government and non-governmental organisations, aspiring for positive policy change and formulation at policy making levels, project and programme implementation, awareness raising through different channels including seminars, workshops, publications and media mobilisation etc. The organisation, before implementing any programme, facilitates the target groups through community participation and involvement in the situation study, analysis and planning process. Similarly, the organization makes efforts to help the communities and target groups in their development and welfare by closely working together with the responsible authorities, NGOs, and DAs etc. The organization has the following specific working approaches:
• Development works for the target groups to be carried out with the involvement of communities themselves .
• Development through coordination, collective efforts and networking.
• Right-based advocacy and relative lobbying.
• Adoption of new working approaches based on situational study and analysis .
• Arranging seminars, walks, and peace dialogues/debates to bring peace and harmony in the target areas. ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE:
• The board of directors (B.O.D) of OHD is the strategic apex of the organization. The roles and functions of B.O.D have been explicitly defined in the constitution of the organization.
• The organization is headed by a full time Executive director who is the chief executive and fully responsible for financial, technical, personnel, operational matters and entire administration of OHD and shall report to the B.O.D.
• OHD is a gender sensitive organization; therefore all positions are open for men and women.
