Pakistan Navy successfully tests long-range cruise m!ssile in first live-f!re exercise. The Pakistan Navy’s Hangor submarine conducted its first successful live we*pon f!ring in the North Arabian Sea, according to ISPR.

During the exercise, PNS/M Hangor f!red a long-range ant!-ship cruise m!ssile that hit its designated targ_et with accuracy. The f!ring helped validate the submarine’s we*pon systems and operational readiness, marking a milestone for Pakistan Navy’s underwater warfare capabilities.

Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf appreciated the performance of the submarine and the professionalism of its crew. The Navy said strengthening underwater capabilities remains important for maritime defence and operational preparedness.

بینک دولتِ پاکستان کے گورنر جمیل احمد نے ’’پاسبان ریمی ٹینس ریوارڈ‘‘ اسکیم کا افتتاح کردیا۔نجی ٹی وی چینل ’’ ایکسپریس نیوز‘‘ کے مطابق مارکیٹ کی بنیاد پر انعامات دینے کی یہ سکیم بینکاری صنعت کے نمائندہ پلیٹ فارم پاکستان بینکس ایسوسی ایشن (پی بی اے) کے زیرِ اہتمام شروع کی گئی ہے۔سکیم کے تحت اپنی ترسیلات بینکاری ذرائع سے پاکستان بھیجنے والے صارفین کی خدمات کے اعتراف میں انہیں ہر سال مجموعی طور پر 16 ارب روپے کے نقد انعامات دیے جائیں گے۔ اسکیم کے تمام اخراجات بینکاری صنعت برداشت کرے گی اور قومی خزانے پر اس کا کوئی بوجھ نہیں پڑے گا۔

اسٹیٹ بینک کی سرپرستی میں تشکیل دی گئی اس اسکیم کا مقصد بیرونِ ملک مقیم پاکستانیوں کو اس بات کی مزید ترغیب دینا ہے کہ وہ ترسیلات کی رقم اپنے پیاروں کو پاکستان میں بھجواتے وقت بینکاری کے باضابطہ ذرائع استعمال کریں۔افتتاحی تقریب سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے گورنر جمیل احمد نے کہا کہ اسٹیٹ بینک اور حکومت پچھلے چند ماہ سے پی بی اے کے ساتھ مل کر اس اسکیم کی تیاری پر کام کر رہے تھے۔یہ اسکیم خود انحصاری کے تحت مارکیٹ کی بنیاد پر کام کرے گی تاکہ بیرونِ ملک مقیم پاکستانیوں کو اپنی ترسیلات بینکاری کے باضابطہ ذرائع سے وطن بھجوانے میں آسانی فراہم کی جائے،انہیں ترغیب دی جائے اور اس طرح ترسیلات حاصل کی جائیں۔انہوں نے کہا کہ کارکنوں کی ترسیلات پاکستان کے طول و عرض میں مقیم لاکھوں خاندانوں کے لیے آمدنی کا بنیادی ذریعہ ہیں۔ ان ہی ترسیلات سے ان کے گھریلو اخراجات پورے ہوتے ہیں، تعلیم اور صحت کی سہولت حاصل ہوتی ہے، اور سرمایہ کاری اور اقتصادی مواقع کے لیے وسائل مہیا ہوتے ہیں۔

گورنر اسٹیٹ بینک نے ملک کے بیرونی کھاتے میں آنے والے استحکام کا بھی ذکر کیا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ بیرونی کرنٹ اکاؤنٹ خسارہ مالی سال 22ء میں ناپائیدار سطح تک پہنچ گیا تھا اور اس کی وجہ سے زرمبادلہ ذخائر تیزی سے کم ہو گئے تھے، اس خسارے کو اب قابلِ انتظام سطح تک لایا گیا ، جس سے زرمبادلہ ذخائر کو مسلسل بڑھانے میں مدد ملی ہے۔اسٹیٹ بینک کے زرمبادلہ ذخائر جو فروری 2023ء میں گر کر 3.0 ارب ڈالر رہ گئے تھے، اب 21.4 ارب ڈالر ہیں۔انہوں نے زور دے کر کہا کہ زرمبادلہ ذخائر کی مسلسل مضبوطی کا سبب ماضی کے برعکس بیرونی قرض اکٹھا کرنے کے بجائے مارکیٹ سے زرمبادلہ کی خریداری ہے۔ گورنر نے بیرونِ ملک مقیم پاکستانیوں کی خدمات کو سراہا اور کارکنوں کی ترسیلاتِ زر کی غیر معمولی کارکردگی کو اجاگر کیا جو مالی سال 26ء میں 41.6 ارب ڈالر ریکارڈ سطح پر پہنچ گئیں، جبکہ مالی سال 19ء میں یہ 21.7 ارب ڈالر تھیں، اس مدت میں یہ تقریباً دگنے اضافے کو ظاہر کرتی ہیں۔

Pakistan’s listed refinery sector returned to profit in FY2026, recording Rs. 54.8 billion in earnings compared with a Rs. 10.5 billion loss a year earlier. According to a report by Arif Habib Limited, the recovery was supported by stronger petrol and diesel refining margins, higher production and increased sales.

Sector revenue rose 26.9% to Rs. 1.54 trillion, while gross profit surged to Rs. 107.4 billion from Rs. 10.4 billion. Total petroleum product production increased 13.4% to 11.2 million tons, with refinery utilization improving to 55% from 48% in FY2025.

Attock Refinery, Pakistan Refinery, Cnergyico PK and National Refinery all returned strong profits during FY2026. However, the sector’s recovery was concentrated in the first three quarters, with gross profit falling sharply in the fourth quarter.

Govt to Launch Gender Tracker System to Monitor Online Harassment of Women

The government is set to introduce a Gender Tracker System to monitor online harassment of women and the unauthorized use of their images and videos. A special portal and digital dashboard for gender-based violence have also been prepared and are expected to be launched soon.

During a committee meeting chaired by Nafisa Shah, Acting Chairperson of the National Commission on the Status of Women (NCSW), Nooreen Bano, briefed members on ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening women's protection and access to justice.

She revealed that a baseline survey is underway across all four provinces to improve the commission's complaint system and make it more accessible in Urdu, Sindhi, Pashto, Balochi and other regional languages.

The commission has also proposed appointing women lawyers in every province to provide legal assistance to women in need.

Meanwhile, the National Gender Dashboard will assess women's status through 115 indicators, helping authorities monitor progress and identify areas requiring attention.

The government aims to complete the Women Facilitation Centre by 2027, offering NADRA, passport, healthcare, counselling and legal assistance services under one roof.

Provincial police chiefs have also been asked to submit timely and complete data on crimes against women, while work continues on the National Gender Equality Report.

These initiatives aim to strengthen women's safety, improve access to essential services and support efforts to address gender-based violence across Pakistan.
