On this World Day Against Child Labor — June 12, 2026,
SHDS stands with every child in Sindh
whose childhood has been replaced by work.

-3.3 million children in Pakistan are engaged in child labor. Sindh accounts for one of the highest rates of out-of-school children in the country. 52% of working children in Sindh are under the age of 10. Poverty, feudal systems, and lack of access to education remain the root causes. In the villages of Sindh, children as young as 5 work in agricultural fields, brick kilns, carpet weaving factories, and domestic servitude —
not by choice, but by circumstance.

SHDS believes that every child in Sindh
deserves protection, education, and dignity.
