Bridging Frontline Action & National Policy: Highlights from Alhamra Arts Council, Lahore

On 24th September 2026, the Lodhran Pilot Project (LPP) participated in The Rivers Remember – Art for Flood Awareness, hosted by the Pakistan Art Forum in collaboration with the Government of Punjab at the Cultural Complex, Alhamra Arts Council, Lahore.

LPP was honored to be the only National NGO represented alongside global institutions, including UNICEF, WWF-Pakistan, and the U.S. Consul General Lahore.Representing LPP on the panel, Dr. Muhammad Abdul Saboor, CEO of LPP, shared critical insights on localizing disaster management and safeguarding vulnerable populations during severe inundation. His intervention focused on LPP’s field operations in South Punjab and high-risk riverine basins, emphasizing:

Localized grassroots action and empowering community leadership during catastrophic flooding. Inclusive WASH design to secure clean water during prolonged inundation.Structured youth leadership and volunteer mobilization for frontline disaster response. Financial accountability and democratic local governance in flood recovery efforts.

The session established a compelling case for integrating grassroots civil society into national climate strategy.

LPP’s exhibition space provided a dynamic platform to demonstrate the organization’s long-standing interventions in community-based disaster response, climate-resilient WASH, and active citizenry. The team engaged with diplomats, development sector leaders, students, and government officials, earning wide appreciation for LPP’s evidence-based approach to community resilience. LPP extends its gratitude to the organizers, dignitaries, and sector partners for fostering a dialogue that connects art, governance, and climate action.

Lodhran Pilot Project (LPP) convened a consultation with key civil society leaders in Multan to discuss the current landscape, explore opportunities for collaboration, and identify new pathways for collective action.
Participants emphasized the importance of learning from global civil society practices to address funding challenges and develop sustainable solutions. Dr. Abdul Saboor, CEO LPP, urged all CSOs to join hands in exploring innovative approaches for resilience and growth.

On 21st September 2026, Dr. Muhammad Abdul Saboor, CEO of Lodhran Pilot Project (LPP), participated as a guest speaker in the International Day of Peace Conference organized by the Department of Political Science, Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU), Multan, in collaboration with the Peace and Counter Extremism Research Centre at Tahir Amin Seminar Hall.
Reflecting on the UN theme “Invest in Peace – For Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day” and the conference theme “Peace: A Shared Responsibility for a Brighter Future”, Dr. Saboor emphasized that peace is not merely the absence of conflict, but a daily investment in dialogue, tolerance, and coexistence.

Lodhran Polit Project completed its second five-day training in Multan from 14–18 September 2026 under the “Strengthening Socio-Economic Resilience of Young People through Green Skills” project.

The training engaged representatives from twelve CSOs and strengthened their practical knowledge and skills in Project Cycle Management, MEAL, Financial & Procurement Management, Networking, Risk & Safeguarding, and Resource Mobilization.
With the support of Welthungerhilfe (WHH) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), LPP continues to strengthen local CSOs and promote green skills, youth empowerment, sustainable livelihoods, and climate resilience.

Lodhran Pilot Project successfully completed a five-day Institutional Capacity Building Training for CSOs under the “Strengthening Socio-Economic Resilience of Young People through Green Skills” project at the LPP Office, Lodhran.

The training engaged five CSO representatives from District Lodhran in strengthening practical skills in Project Cycle Management, MEAL, Financial & Procurement Management, Networking, Risk & Safeguarding, and Resource Mobilization.

Supported by Welthungerhilfe (WHH) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the initiative reflects LPP’s commitment to strengthening CSO institutional capacity, youth empowerment, sustainable livelihoods, and climate resilience.

Today our CEO Dr. Abdul Saboor and Director Finance Mr. Shahid Saleem Rana visited the Tareen Diagnostic Center (TDC) at 12 MPR, Lodhran. They met with patients, asked about the services, and checked how the staff and facility are doing.
At TDC, people get 12 basic tests, ultrasound, digital X-ray and a free dispensary for basic medicines, all free of cost and all in one place.
Many patients shared their higher satisfaction and were thankful to LPP and Jahangir Khan Tareen Sahib for a place where they can get their tests and medicines without worrying about the cost. They’re were Grateful to everyone working to keep this facility running for the people of Lodhran.

Sanitation Project Kickoff in Chiniot
Lodhran Pilot Project (LPP), in collaboration with Al-Siraj Welfare Foundation, has launched an Improved Sanitation Model at 241/JB, Chiniot to replace the unsafe open sewage pond.
Mr. Rafique Sb from Al-Siraj Welfare Foundation and Dr. Abdul Saboor from LPP visited the project site to review progress. They also held a joint meeting with both teams to explore opportunities for future collaboration between LPP, Al-Siraj Welfare Foundation, at the Bakhtawar Girls Chaniot.
