No more thin plastic. The law is clear.

Parliamentary Secretary for Environment Kanwal Liaquat Advocate held a press conference in Liberty Market with office bearers of Anjuman-e-Tajiran Liberty Market regarding enforcement of the 75-micron plastic bag ban.

Plastic below 75 microns is banned in Punjab. It clogs drains, pollutes soil, chokes wildlife, and breaks down into microplastics that enter our food chain.

EPA Punjab is working with trader associations to ensure compliance across markets. Traders pledged support. Enforcement teams are active. Violations will be penalized.

Planting trees is not a campaign. It is a necessity for clean air and a livable Punjab.

EPA Punjab planted 7105 trees in Mianwali to strengthen our green future and fight smog at its roots.

Every tree means more oxygen, less dust, lower temperatures, and natural carbon capture. This is how we build climate resilience district by district.

Mianwali just got greener. Punjab is next.

Plant one where you live. Report illegal cutting. Protect what we grow.

When fields burn, Punjab responds fast.

On 19 May 2026, the EPA Quick Response Unit carried out action in 10 hotspot districts.

Results in one day:
• 60 acres of crop fire extinguished
• 15 locations stopped before wheat residue was set on fire

This is on-ground enforcement to prevent smog at the source. Our teams are active in the field with tankers, trained staff, and satellite alerts to stop stubble burning before it chokes Punjab’s air.

Burning residue is illegal. It destroys soil health and fills our cities with smoke. Report it immediately.
