Pakistan Coal Association (PCA) Statement

The Pakistan Coal Association (PCA) expresses its deepest sorrow over the tragic methane gas explosion in the Sorange coalfield near Quetta, which claimed the lives of at least 32 miners, while rescue teams continue searching for two missing workers. This heartbreaking incident serves as a solemn reminder of the risks faced by miners every day. PCA extends its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and stands in solidarity with the affected communities. We also urge all relevant authorities and industry stakeholders to strengthen mine safety standards, enforce strict compliance with safety regulations, and adopt improved emergency preparedness measures to help prevent such tragedies in the future.
