Stop Violence Against Health Professionals

Doctors, nurses and all healthcare workers dedicate their lives to caring for patients, often under immense physical, emotional, and mental pressure. They deserve safety, dignity, respect, and peace of mind while performing their duties.
Violence, intimidation, and harassment against healthcare professionals not only harm individuals but also disrupt hospital services, compromise patient care and weaken the entire healthcare system. A doctor working under fear cannot provide the level of care that every patient deserves.
Respect for healthcare professionals is not merely a demand of doctors,it is essential for efficient hospital functioning, better patient management, improved doctor-patient relationships, and ultimately for the health and wellbeing of every member of society.
A safe doctor means a safer patient.
A respected healthcare worker means a stronger healthcare system.

Today, Black Ribbon Day was observed at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital Lahore, in solidarity with Dr. Mahnoor, who recently became the victim of a tragic acid attack in civil Hospital Quetta.
This day was organized to express unwavering support for her and to pray for her swift and complete recovery.
The gathering also served as a platform to strongly condemn violence against healthcare professionals across the country.
YDA SGRH president Dr. Usman Gujjar emphasized the urgent need for effective legislation and enhanced security measures to ensure the safety and protection of doctors and other healthcare workers across the country.
YDA SGRH /FJMU stands united in demanding justice for Dr. Mahnoor and a safer working environment for all healthcare professionals.

YDA SGRH/FJMU met with MS SGRH Dr. Arif Iftikhar to review security situation in Hospital & Dreamland hostel.

minutes of meeting of YDA SGRH with MS SGRH regarding security measures.

1. A WhatsApp group named " security complaints and surveillance " will be created immediately,in which all ward registrars,YDA representatives ,MS SGRH,all DMS, security guards company In charge & police personnel will be added to review daily security situation.
2. A committee had been formed which will review Functioning of CCTV cameras across hospital premises, and give recommendations for installing new cameras in every corridor.
3. During Night , Male Guard must Accompany female Guard in all wards.
4. Security Guards Roaster will be shared with ward registrars.
5. Proper coordination system b/w Doctors,hospital administration and police will be established in case of any emergency.
6. Police verification of every security guard will be provided to YDA SGRH.
7. New cctv cameras will be installed in Dreamland hostel.

YDA SGRH will do everything within its capacity to ensure a safe working environment for our colleagues at SGRH.

YDA SGRH/FJMU strongly condemns the tragic incident that occurred today, in which a man threw acid on a female doctor at Civil Hospital Quetta.
This horrifying attack highlights the urgent need for a Doctors' Security Bill to ensure the safety and protection of healthcare professionals across Pakistan. No doctor should have to work in fear while serving patients and saving lives.
We stand in solidarity with our Colleague and reaffirm our commitment to advocating for a safe and secure working environment for all healthcare workers.
According to various media reports, the perpetrator responsible for this heinous crime was killed in a police encounter. While this may bring a sense of immediate accountability, it does not address the root cause of the problem.
The real question remains: Why were adequate security arrangements not in place at the hospital to prevent such a horrific incident? Why is the safety of doctors not treated as a national priority? Why do governments wait for tragedies to occur before taking action? Why must healthcare professionals continue to risk their lives while serving the public?
Doctors dedicate their lives to saving others. Their safety and protection must never be neglected. We demand immediate and concrete measures to ensure the security of all healthcare workers across Pakistan.

Doctors are among the hardest-working professionals in our society, dedicating endless hours, sleepless nights, and immense personal sacrifices to save lives and care for patients. Despite carrying an overwhelming workload, facing mental and physical exhaustion, and working under constant pressure, many doctors remain significantly underpaid. In today’s reality of rising inflation, skyrocketing petrol prices, increasing utility bills, and the ever-growing cost of living, it has become increasingly difficult for doctors to sustain a dignified standard of life despite their years of education and responsibility. Young doctors at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital Lahore continue to serve humanity with unwavering commitment, often putting patients before themselves, yet fair salaries and better working conditions remain a pressing need. A strong healthcare system cannot survive without valued and motivated doctors. It is time to recognize their sacrifices and ensure fair pay, dignity, and respect for those who dedicate their lives to saving others.

لاہور کے مشہور ہسپتال کے اسسٹنٹ پروفیسر صاحب سے بات ہو رہی تھی ۔ کہنے لگے کہ یار وارڈ کا عید روسٹر بن رہا تھا کہ ایک جونئیر پی جی آر نے درخواست کی کہ اس کی نئی نئی شادی ہوئی ہے تو اسے شادی کے بعد پہلی عید اپنی فیملی کے ساتھ منانے کی اجازت دی جائے، ہمیشہ کی طرح ڈاکٹر صاحب کو انکار کیا گیا اور پروفیسر سے عزت افزائی بھی ہوئی۔
پوری دنیا میں تہوارں،پبلک ہولیڈیز اور اسپیشل سنڈے کی ڈیوٹی کرنے پر ڈاکٹرز سمیت تمام ہسپتال کے عملے کو اسپیشل الاؤنس ملتا ہے لیکن وطن عزیز میں گنگا الٹی بہتی ہے ۔ یہاں ڈاکٹرز کو کسی قسم کی کوئی پبلک ہولیڈے سمیت کسی بھی تہوار میں کسی قسم کی کو چھٹی نہیں ملتی ۔
دنیا بھر کے مقابلے میں پاکستان میں ڈاکٹرز کی تنخواہیں سب سے کم ہیں۔ Hectic ڈیوٹی روسڑز، Toxic ورکنگ environment ، وارڈز میں بے تحاشا رش میں ڈاکٹرز اپنی ڈیوٹیاں سر انجام دے رہے ہیں ۔ افسوناک ترین بات یہ ہے کہ پاکستان میں عیدین اور دیگر پبلک ہولیڈیز پر ڈیوٹی کرنے والے ڈاکٹر کو کسی قسم کا کوئی الاؤنس نہیں ملتا ۔
سوال یہ ہے کہ کیا پاکستانی قوم ایسا کیوں سوچتی ہے کہ ڈاکٹرز کی کوئی فیملی نہیں؟ کوئی ضروریات نہیں؟ کوئی پرسنل لائف نہیں؟؟ کیوں چھٹی والے دن بھی ان کو ریلیف دینے کے نام پر اس قوم کو سکتہ طاری ہو جاتا ہے؟؟
پاکستان میں بزنس مین طبقہ ہفتہ وار تعطیل جمعہ یا اتوار کو کرتا ہے،آپ ان سے دکان کھلوا کر دیکھین، لیکن ہسپتالوں میں ڈاکٹرز سے یہ لوگ اتوار والے دن بھی لڑ رہے تھے ۔ آپ ایک عام پلمبر سے چھٹی والے دن اپنے گھر کی ایک خراب ٹوٹی صحیح کر کے دکھا دیں،وہ بندا آپ کی ناک سے لکیریں نکلوا دے گا لیکن عوام اسے کچھ نہیں کہہ سکتی ۔
پاکستان کی نالائق ترین،احساس کمتری میں مبتال ،بے اے پاس بیوروکریسی کا سارا زور ڈاکٹرز پر چلتا ہے۔ جسکا بھی دل کرتا ہے،کیمرا مین کیساتھ پولیس کے جھتے کیساتھ انسپکشن کے نام پر ہسپتال پر دھاوا بول دیتا ہے اور اسی چھچھوری حرکتیں کرتا ہے کہ عقل دھنگ رہ جاتی ہے۔ یہ سب ایسا کیوں کرتے ہیں؟؟ کیونکہ انہیں پتا ہے کہ ڈاکٹرز ایزی ٹارگٹ ہیں۔ ایسے ہی ایک شوخا اے سی سول کورٹ پہنچا تھا،آگے وکیلوں نے خوب ٹھکائی کی تھی ،اب وہاں کوئی نہیں جاتا۔
پاکستان کے ہسپتال میں کام کرتا ہر ڈاکٹر زہنی دباؤ کا شکار ہو چکا ہے، تنخواہ اسکی سب سے کم،وہ خرچے کیسے پورا کرے؟ کچھ ہسپتالوں میں ہاسٹل تک کی سہولت میسر نہیں تو آدھی تنخواہ رینٹ میں چلی جاتی، مریضوں کا بے پناہ رش، ہسپتال میں نا کوئی سیکورٹی ،نا عزت اور نا ہی جان مال عزت محفوظ ۔ اب حالات یہ ہے کہ ایک عطائی / پہلوان ایک ایف سی پی ایس/ ایم ایس/ ایم ڈی کنسلٹنٹ سے زیادہ پیسے کما رہا ہے جو کہ ظلم کی انتہا ہے۔
اس احسان فراموش قوم کا جب بس چلے ڈاکٹروں پر چڑھ دوڑے ۔ لواحقین آئے دن ڈاکٹرز کیساتھ بدتمیزی کرتے ہیں اور اب تو بات بات پر ہاتھا پائی تک پہنچ جاتے ہیں ۔ اس قوم کے جبر سے تو اب ہماری فیمیل ڈاکٹرز کولیگز تک محفوظ نہیں ۔ بے شرم لوگ ہماری فیمیل کولیگز کو اتنی غلیظ گالیاں بکتے ہیں کہ سر شرم سے جھک جاتے ہیں۔ کتنی سرکاریں آئیں،ایک بھی سرکار ڈاکٹرز کی سیفٹی کے ایک سیکورٹی بل تک نا لا سکی۔
اس سب کے باوجود، ٹریننگ کے مسئلے الگ، سپروائزر کے طعنے الگ۔ اگر کوئی مسئلہ پروفیسر صاحبان تک چلا جاتا تو آگے سے وہی رٹا رٹایا جواب " ہم نے بھی اپنی ٹرینگ ایسے کی تھی، تم لوگوں کو کونسا سرخاب کا پر لگا ہے " اور چل سو چل۔
ظلم کی انتہا دیکھیں،پورا پاکستان ہر عید اپنے خاندان کسیاتھ مناتا ہے سوائے ڈاکٹرز کے،لیکن پھر بھی یہ قوم ڈاکٹرز کو قصائی کہتی ہے۔ اس سب میں قصور ہمارا اپنا بھی ہے۔ مثال کے طور پر، سرکار جب بھی جونئیر ڈاکٹرز کے خلاف کوئی ایکشن لیتی ہے تو سینیر ڈاکٹرز نے کھبی اپنے جونئیرز کی سائیڈ نہیں لی بلکہ سرکار کی حوصلہ افزائی کی کہ انکو مزید رگڑا لگایا جائے ۔
ہر سرکار کا ایزی ٹارگٹ ہسپتال اور ڈاکٹرز ہوتے ہیں ۔ اب تو ان کی کیمروں سے نگرانی کی جا رہی ہے، موبائلز پر پابندی عائد کر دی گئی ہے،سوال یہ ہے کہ سارے قاعدے،قانون ڈاکٹرز پر ہی کوئی لاگو ہوتے ہیں ، کیا باقی سارے محکمے ٹھیک ہو گئے ہیں یا دودھ کے دھلے ہوئے ہیں؟؟؟اس کا کسی کے پاس کوئی جواب نہیں ۔
ہماری عوام یہ بھی سمجھنے سے قاصر ہے کہ ہسپتال میں سہولیات فراہم کرنا سرکار کا کام ہے اور ڈاکٹر کا کام صرف علاج کرنا ہے ، عوام ناکافی سہولیات کا ملبہ بھی ہم ڈاکٹرز پر ڈالتی ہے۔
ضرورت اس امر کی ہے کہ سرکار،عوام اور ڈاکٹرز کے درمیان جو دوریاں پیدا ہو چکی ہیں انہیں کم کرنے کی عملی کوششیں کی جائیں۔
حکومت پاکستان اور تمام صوبائی حکومتوں بلخصوص حکومت پنجاب کو چاہیے کہ ڈاکٹرز کی تنخواہوں میں کم سے کم سو فیصد اضافہ کیا جائے ۔ پبلک ہولیڈیز پر ڈیوٹی کرنے والوں ڈاکٹرز کو اسپیشل الاؤنس دیا جائے ۔ ڈاکٹرز کے تحفظ کے لئے آرڈینس لایا جائے ۔ جن ہسپتالوں میں ہاسٹل نہیں،وہاں نئے ہاسٹل تعمیر کیے جائیں ۔ ڈاکٹرز کی بھرتیاں زیادہ کی جائیں۔ پی پی ایس سی کے زریعے نئے میڈیکل / وویمن مکڈیکل افیسرز بھرتی کیے جائیں۔ ٹریننگ کی سیٹیں زیادہ کی جائیں اور ڈاکٹرز کو وہ عزت و مقام دیا جائے جنکے وہ حق دار ہیں۔

Doctors were once considered cream of the nation. But due to the overproduction of doctors through private medical colleges, almost 90% of doctors are now facing unemployment.
Doctors are working under extremely hectic duty schedules with no public holidays, overburdened wards, toxic working environment that too without any security or safety while receiving very low salaries.
There are very few training seats available through CIP/PRP,almost every private hospital offering unpaid training.
There are hardly any adhoc, contract, or PPSC MO/WMO jobs available now. Only locum based jobs exist, and even doctors who manage to secure these seats have still not received their salaries.
Doctors’ salaries in Pakistan are among the lowest in the world despite the extremely heavy workload. Private hospitals are paying only 40,000–60,000 PKR per month to MOs/WMOs.
It is high time for the government to increase doctor's salaries and create more job opportunities and training slots. Otherwise, every doctor will eventually leave this country.

کل کے وفاقی حکومت کے نوٹیفکیشن کے بعد پیٹرول کی قیمت 415 روپے فی لیٹر ہو چکی ہے، ابھی بھی زیادہ تر سرکاری و نیم سرکاری ادارے ورک فرام ہوم کر رہے ہیں، جبکہ فزیکلی کام ہفتے میں صرف چار دن تک محدود کر دیا گیا ہے۔ پیٹرول کی قیمتوں میں اضافے کی وجہ سے ہر چیز کی قیمت میں اضافہ دیکھنے کو ملتا ہے۔
اب ڈاکٹرز بیچارے برے پھنسے ہوئے ہیں۔ پیر سے ہفتے تک بلاناغہ ڈیوٹیاں،وارڈ کالز و ایمرجینسی ڈیوٹی اور پھر او پی ڈی،اتوار کو ہاٹ سنڈے لگ جاتا،جبکہ کسی عام تعطیل کے دن ڈیوٹی لگ گئی تو وہ بھی آپ نے کرنی ہی کرنی ہے۔ عید کی ڈیوٹیاں الگ ۔ یہ سب کام کرنے کے باوجود،ایک عام ڈاکٹر کی تنخواہ اتنی ہی ہے،جتنی آج سے 5 سال قبل تھی ۔ 5 سال قبل ڈالر کی قیمت اور آجکی قیمت میں زمین آسمان تک کا فرق ہے،جبکہ ڈاکٹرز کی تنخواہیں اسی 5 سال قبل والے ڈالر کی قیمت میں مل رہی ہیں ۔
سوال یہ اٹھتا ہے کہ،کیا ڈاکٹرز کی گاڑیاں و موٹر سائیکلز پیٹرول کی بجائے پانی پر چلتی ہیں؟ کیا ڈاکٹرز کو گرمی نہیں لگتی کہ انکو گرمیوں کی چھٹیاں ملیں؟ کیا ڈاکٹرز کا دل نہیں کرتا کہ وہ عید اپنے خاندان کیساتھ منائیں؟ کیا اس مہنگائی سے عام ڈاکٹر متاثر نہیں ہوا؟
ایک عام pgr,جسکا ماہانہ stipned ایک لاکھ دس ہزار روپے ہے،جبکہ اسکا ورک لوڈ باقیوں کی بانسبت سب سے زیادہ ہے،تو وہ اس تنخواہ سے کیسے گزارہ کرے گا؟ کیسے اپنے خاندان کو پالے گا۔
ڈاکٹرز کے لئے کوئی سروس اسٹرکچر موجود ہی نہیں ۔ قائد اعظم کا قول کام،کام اور کام۔۔کیا صرف ڈاکٹرز پر ہی لاگو ہوتا ہے۔ اگر پیٹرول کی قیمتوں سے باقی طبقے متاثر ہوئے ہیں تو ڈاکٹرز بھی اس سے سب سے زیادہ متاثر ہوئے ہیں، جنکی تنخواہ تو پہلے جتنی ہی ہے، لیکن ہر چیز کی قیمت ٹرپل ہو چکی ہے۔
سب سے مضحکہ خیز بات یہ ہے کہ ڈاکٹرز کا ہاؤس رینٹ، conveyance allowance آج بھی اتنا ہے جتنا 2018 میں تھا۔
جب تک اس پیٹرول کی قیمتیں کم نہیں ہوتی، تب تک، ڈاکٹرز کو بھی ہفتے میں چار دن ڈیوٹی پر بلایا جائے ۔
اب وقت آ گیا ہے کہ سرکار،ڈاکٹرز کے سروس سٹرکچر کو از سر نو مرتب کرے۔ پبلک ہولڈیز و عیدین پر ڈیوٹی کرنے والوں کو سپیشل الاوئنس دیا جائے ۔ HOS,PGRS کے stipend میں فی الفور اضافہ ناگزیر ہو چکا ہے، جبکہ ٹیچنگ فیکلٹی اور جنرل کیڈز ڈاکٹرز کی تنخواہوں میں بھی اضافہ کیا جائے ۔
ہسپتالوں میں انسانیت سوز ڈیوٹی روسٹر کی حوصلہ شکنی کی جانے چاہیئے ۔ کم تنخواہ،زیادہ ورک لوڈ،اور Hectic ڈیوٹی روسٹر کی وجہ سے ڈاکٹرز انزائٹی کا شکار ہو رہے ہیں،جس پر بھی ارباب اختیار کو لازمی سوچنا چاہئے ۔
بڑھتی ہوئی بیروزگاری کی وجہ سے میڈیکل شعبہ شدید دباؤ کا شکار ہے،اوپر سے سرکاری ہسپتالوں میں ہر روز کی فضول کی چیکنگ و چھاپے، اب کیمروں سے Surveillance ، موبائل پر ایکسرے دیکھنے کی وجہ سے نوکری سے نکال دینا،ضروری دوائی باہر سے منگوانے پر نوکری سے برخاستگی جیسے فیصلوں کی وجہ سے آج کا ڈاکٹر،اس ملک سے اور اس نظام سے مایوس ہو چکا یے،یہی وجہ ہے پاکستان کا کنسلٹنٹ باہر SHO کی جاب بھی کرنے کو تیار ہے۔ تھوڑا نہیں زیادہ سوچیے۔۔

On the occasion of International Nurses Day, A ceremony was held at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. Dr. Usman Gujjar, President YDA SGRH represented the association along with spokesperson Dr. Usman Zafar.
Addressing the gathering, the President said that nurses are an integral part of the healthcare system in every hospital. He further stated that YDA is working closely with the Young Nurses Association for the betterment and welfare of the nursing community.
At the end of the ceremony, he was presented with a shield by YNA SGRH in recognition of his support and participation. Media and information secretary YDA SGRH,Dr. Shafay sabir, was also present on the occasion.
