Pakistan Engineering Congress (PEC) Pakistan Engineering Congress is the oldest engineering body of Sub-Continent, established in 1912. It is a non-governmental and non-political organization.

Pakistan Engineering Congress is a multi-disciplinary body of professional engineers established in 1912. Its office bearers are all professional engineers and they work voluntarily during their tenures of office. The cherished objectives of this august body are to:
i.Promote engineering science and profession. ii.Afford its members opportunities for meeting periodically, to discuss,
propagate an

d pursue matters of professional interest relating to engineering and technology developments. iii.Have a code of ethics that governs the professional conduct of its members. iv.Help promote professional and career interests of engineers. v.To promote research and development in engineering. Glimpses: A delegation of Pakistan Engineering Congress paid a technical visit to the Railway Locomotive Workshop, Mughalpura, Lahore on Tuesday, 27th January 2026. The delegation was warmly received by Engr. Khalid Khan, Divisional Superintendent, Railway Workshop, along with senior officials of the facility.
During the visit, the delegation was briefed on the history, operations, and technical capabilities of the Mughalpura Workshop, which remains one of the largest and oldest railway engineering complexes in Pakistan. Members of the Congress were taken on a guided tour of various sections, including locomotive assembly, repair bays, machining units, and quality control laboratories.
