Nursing Department, Ghurki Trust Teaching Hospital Celebrates International Patient Safety Day.
Ghurki Trust Teaching Hospital proudly celebrated International Patient Safety Day under this year's global theme "Safe Care for Non-Communicable Diseases" with great zeal and dedication.
The program was gracefully hosted by Clinical Education Coordinator, Ms. Adeela Safdar, and started with an inspiring welcome address by Nursing Director, Ms. Aneela Taukeer, who highlighted the critical role of nurses as champions of patient safety.
"Patient safety is not the responsibility of one person, one profession, or one department. It is the culture of health care, which we have to create together."

The academic session featured comprehensive and informative lectures on the 6 International Patient Safety Goals (IPSGs):
1. Identify Patients Correctly - by , CNI Ms. Naila Shaukat
2. Improve Effective Communication - by Ms. Adeeba Izhar, Education Manager
3. Improve the Safety of High-Alert Medications - by Ms. Sidra, Pharmacist
4. Ensure Safe Surgery - by Mr. Ali Hasnain, Head Nurse CICU
5. Reduce the Risk of Health Care-Associated Infections - by Ms. Ausha Fahad, ICN
6. Reduce the Risk of Patient Falls - by Mr. Shahriyar, Head Nurse
A special keynote lecture on the theme of the year, "Safe Care for Non-Communicable Diseases" was delivered by Mr. Ferhan Alvi, IPCO.
To make patient safety day meaningful open question answering session was conducted .
Following the lectures, all nursing staff solemnly read the Patient Safety Pledge, reaffirming their unwavering commitment to uphold the highest standards of safety, quality, and compassionate care for every patient.
The celebration concluded with an Awareness Walk from the Spine Center to the Emergency Area, where participants raised awareness with great enthusiasm and unity.
