The Centre for Peace and Secular Studies (CPSS) organized an engaging dialogue session titled “Geopolitical Flux and Pakistan’s Choices”, featuring renowned scholar and intellectual Dr. Mubarak Haider as the keynote speaker. The session brought together a diverse group of participants including journalists, lawyers, university professors, academics, students, and members of civil society, reflecting the broad public interest in understanding the rapidly changing global political landscape and its implications for Pakistan.
Dr. Mubarak Haider delivered a thought-provoking talk on the shifting geopolitical environment and the complex choices facing Pakistan in the current global context. He emphasized the importance of critically examining regional and global power dynamics, economic dependencies, and political alliances that shape Pakistan’s policy options. His remarks encouraged participants to reflect on the challenges and opportunities emerging from changing international relations and the need for informed public discourse on national priorities.
The discussion that followed the talk was particularly vibrant and engaging. Participants from various professional and academic backgrounds posed thoughtful questions and shared their perspectives, creating a rich and dynamic dialogue. The diversity of the audience contributed to a deeper exploration of the subject, as questions ranged from regional political shifts and economic challenges to the role of civil society and intellectual debate in shaping national policy.
Originally scheduled from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, the session generated such strong interest that the conversation continued well beyond the allocated time. Dr. Mubarak Haider graciously remained until 7:30 pm, patiently responding to questions and engaging with participants who wished to continue the discussion. His willingness to extend the session reflected both his commitment to intellectual exchange and the audience’s eagerness to engage more deeply with the topic.
CPSS is deeply grateful to Dr. Mubarak Haider for sharing his insights and for generously dedicating additional time to respond to diverse questions from the audience. The organization also sincerely thanks all participants who attended the session at short notice and contributed to a meaningful and respectful exchange of ideas.
Such discussions are an important part of CPSS’s ongoing efforts to promote critical dialogue, civic awareness, and informed public debate on issues that shape Pakistan’s future.

The Centre for Peace and Secular Studies (CPSS) extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in yesterday's critical discussion, "Untangling the Narrative: Jihad, Terrorism, and Islamophobia." We are profoundly grateful to our speaker, Dr. Mubarak Haider (Author of Tehzeebi Nargasiyat and Mubalghe Mughaltey), for his insightful analysis, and to our moderator, Liakat Ali Advocate, for steering the complex conversation. A special acknowledgment goes to our diverse and thoughtful audience—including students, teachers, writers, lawyers, and activists—whose active engagement enriched the dialogue. For those who missed it, please note that the video recording of the full discussion will be uploaded shortly to our channels. We deeply appreciate your commitment to peace and look forward to your participation in future CPSS events.
