Alzheimer's Pakistan Alzheimer's Pakistan is the National Organization of Alzheimer's and related dementias Alzheimer's disease is the most common cause of dementia.

Dementia is a collective name for progressive degenerative brain syndromes which affect memory, thinking, behavior and emotion. The chemistry of the brain changes and cells, nerves and transmitters are attacked. Eventually the brain shrinks as gaps develop. Symptoms may include:

Loss of memory
difficulty in finding the right words or understanding what people are saying
difficulty in performing previously routine tasks
personality and mood changes

Alzheimer’s Pakistan offers free day care support in Lahore for people living with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.

Pakistan’s Only Dementia Day Care Club provides a safe and supportive environment with person-centered care, daily activities, physiotherapy, meals, transport, and family support.

An Alzheimer’s Awareness Session (Dementia Friends Training Program) was organized by Alzheimer’s Pakistan at Orient Girls College to educate participants on dementia care and management.
Aoun Abbas led the session, engaging the students in an informative discussion on Alzheimer’s disease, early signs, risk factors, and care-giving strategies.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A segment, followed by the distribution of informational flyers and certificates.
Aoun Abbas expressed gratitude to Orient Girls College for facilitating the session and supporting efforts to enhance dementia awareness.

An interactive Alzheimer's Awareness Session titled "A Talk on Alzheimer's and the Role of Students" was held at Green Model School (Boys), Ring Road, Peshawar, under the auspices of Alzheimer's Pakistan – Peshawar Chapter.
Mr. Mian Atiq Ur Rehman delivered a comprehensive presentation on dementia awareness, early recognition, and the vital role of caregivers in supporting individuals living with dementia. The session was attended by 40 students of Grade 10, along with their teachers.
An engaging question-and-answer session followed the presentation allowing participants to clarify their understanding and actively discuss the topic. At the conclusion of the session certificates and informational flyers were distributed among all participants.
Mr. Mian Atiq Ur Rehman expressed his sincere gratitude to the Principal of Green Model School for his continued support and cooperation in promoting Alzheimer's and dementia awareness. Alzheimer's Pakistan appreciates the school's commitment to educating young people and fostering greater understanding of brain health, healthy aging, and dementia within the community.
