Pakistan Dairy Association (PDA) and Ravi Urban Development Authority.(RUDA) Explore Strategic Collaboration for Sustainable Dairy Development

A productive meeting was held between the Pakistan Dairy Association (PDA) and Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) to explore avenues of collaboration aimed at promoting sustainable dairy development, circular economy initiatives, and rural prosperity within the RUDA jurisdiction.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Shehzad Amin, CEO PDA, and Dr. Muhammad Zubair Ahmed, Manager Operations PDA, along with Ms. Fatima Ali Khan, Director Special Initiatives RUDA, and Mr. Faizan Naeem, RUDA.

During the meeting, Dr. Shehzad Amin briefed the RUDA team on the ongoing Lahore Safe Milk Pilot Project, being implemented in collaboration with the Punjab Food Authority (PFA). He highlighted the project's objectives, vision, and potential to improve milk quality, food safety, farmer livelihoods, and consumer confidence through a sustainable dairy value chain approach.

Ms. Fatima Ali Khan appreciated PDA's efforts and shared the vision of the Honorable Chief Minister Punjab regarding green and sustainable development initiatives within the RUDA jurisdiction. She emphasized the importance of promoting a circular economy, environmental sustainability, clean and green communities, and enhancing rural livelihoods through value addition of milk and dairy products. Special focus was also placed on women's participation and economic empowerment within rural communities.

Both organizations agreed to work together on developing a pilot initiative within the RUDA jurisdiction in collaboration with PFA, relevant public sector stakeholders, dairy farmers, and local communities. The partnership aims to create a replicable model for sustainable dairy development, food safety, environmental stewardship, and rural economic growth.

It was further agreed to initiate the process of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between PDA and RUDA to formalize cooperation and commence joint activities on an immediate basis.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Ms. Fatima Ali Khan presented a commemorative RUDA shield to Dr. Shehzad Amin as a gesture of goodwill and mutual commitment towards building a sustainable and prosperous future for Punjab.
