World pharmacist day is celebrated on 25th September every year. This day was first celebrated in 2009 in Istanbul by the international pharmaceutical federation (FIP) council. This year’s theme is ‘pharmacy united in action for a healthier world’. It shows the positive impact of health on pharmacy that strengthen the profession around the globe. It is celebrated with the intention to promote and advocate the role of pharmacists in delivering safe and effective healthcare. Pharmacist are medicine experts. They play a vast role in medical field to ensure that medicine is safe and effective. Pharmacists are responsible for the development, manufacturing, disposal, safe and efficient use, and management of pharmaceuticals and prescriptions. The world would not have reliable, if pharmacists did not have a thorough understanding of drugs, their side effects, mobility, and toxicity. On World Pharmacist Day, various events are held throughout the globe to raise awareness of the value of medical professionals and to help people realize the critical role that a pharmacist plays in the medical community.
