An important meeting was held today by the English Department Committee (EDC) regarding the examinations at the University of Science and Technology (KUST) in Kohat. The representatives of EDC as well as presidents of various societies and federations also participated in this meeting. In this meeting, a detailed discussion was held with HOD of the English Department and Dean of Social Sciences, Dr. Faridullah Sahib, regarding the examinations. It was suggested by the EDC that the existing examination schedule should be postponed due to non-regular classes for the students. The issue was taken seriously as a result of the joint efforts of the EDC and all the representatives, and the Dean gave a positive response and decided to postpone the exams. An official notification has been issued in this regard according to which the examinations have been postponed for now. On this occasion, the presidents of all societies and federations played a positive role in the favor of the students. Finally, the English Department Committee (EDC) expresses its sincere gratitude to the presidents of all the societies and federations who played an important role in this process.
Regards, English Department Committee (EDC)

چغې وئ اجل ملا ته اورې که نه اورې
تشه خاوره نه دی غني څنګه به شي خاوري

Today is the death anniversary of the great Pashto poet, philosopher and representative of free thought, Ghani Khan Baba.

Ghani Khan Baba is a name that opened new doors of thought, philosophy and beauty in the history of Pashto literature. His poetry is not just poetry, but a deep message of humanity, love, freedom and consciousness. He presented a picture of the soul, pain and emotion of the Pashtuns that awakens the hearts of people to this day.

Ghani Khan Baba showed us that free thought, aesthetic appreciation and respect for humanity are the foundations of a dignified life. His thought and philosophy will always be alive and will enlighten the coming generations.

May Allah Almighty grant the great poet Ghani Khan Baba paradise.

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, celebrated every 8 March (though in truth every day should be a Women’s Day), I want to remind all students that the meaning of this day is not limited to slogans or symbolic celebrations. Its real meaning lies in how we treat women in our daily lives and how sincerely we uphold their dignity and rights.
Women are the strength of our society. In many aspects they are not merely equal to men but often stronger in patience, resilience, care, and responsibility. If equal opportunities are truly provided, their abilities and contributions become even more visible. A healthy and progressive society depends on the respect, participation, and empowerment of its women.
The practice of equality must begin from our homes. The respect we show to our mothers, the support we give to our sisters in their education and choices, and the dignity we extend to our female classmates are the real measures of our awareness. speaking about rights in public has little meaning if we fail to practice fairness and respect in our own families.
We must also work collectively to hinder all inhumane practices that victimize women, such as forced marriages, early marriages, Ghag molestation, harassment, treating women merely as tools, marginalization, low wages, discrimination in public spaces, and the lack of proper health and maternity facilitie A just society must ensure equal opportunities for women in every walk of life.
I also want to remind women themselves that femininity and being a woman is a strength, not a weakness. Unfortunately, societies have often distorted this natural and human truth and turned it into a reason to limit or silence women. It is important to recognize that dignity, confidence, and self-respect are part of that very strength.
As students and as a thinking generation, we must move beyond empty words. Through our thoughts, our behavior, and our work, we must create a culture where equality is practiced and where women are respected as an essential and powerful part of society.

Kohat University’s flawed CMS system and painful steps of fee and status clearance have already made the lives of students miserable, where after hours of languishing in lines at banks and offices, now the closure of registration and imposition of heavy fines is utter injustice and economic exploitation of poor students. All Students Federation and all student organizations unanimously demand that in this holy month of Ramadan, realizing the financial difficulties of students, the course registration date be extended immediately without any fine and the status clearance system be made easy so that students can avoid further mental and physical torture. We assure the administration that if these legitimate demands are not immediately accepted and the burden of fines is not removed, all student organizations reserve the right to adopt a full-fledged protest course of action, the entire responsibility of which will lie with the current administration of the university.
