Legal Awareness for Prisoners
قانونی آگاہی برائے قیدیان

Dated 22 January, Kohat University’s Justice and peace society in collaboration with the Young Peace & Development Corps KUST (YPDC KUST), organized an awareness session on Prisoners’ Rights at District Jail Kohat, under the supervision of Focal Person YDC, Dr. Asif.

Students from the Law Department interacted with prisoners, discussed their lifestyle, and guided them about their legal rights. A meaningful and fruitful discussion was also held with the Jail Superintendent, Mr. Mohtasim Billah, during which the Director Online Distance Learning Program (ODL), KUST, offered special admissions for higher education to prisoners as a step towards rehabilitation and personal development.

This initiative reflects KUST’s commitment to justice, peace, and inclusive education under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Syed Zafar Ilyas (Vice Chancellor, KUST).

YPDC KUST successfully arranged a Bootcamp at Abbottabad University where the President of YPDC Muhammad Jawad Khattak, along with YDC members, visited from Kohat and delivered impactful keynote talks on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Students were engaged on local issues and informed about practical initiatives being taken to address community challenges. Dr. Asif Ali, Focal Person YDC & YPDC, also presented shields to the Vice Chancellor of Abbottabad University and the Focal Person YDC, Abbottabad University, in recognition of their support and collaboration. President YPDC KUST, Jawad Khattak, visited Khushal Khan Khattak University Karak and met with Fahad Khattak, President YPDC KKKUK, to strengthen youth leadership and inter-university collaboration.

We interacted with talented students, shared the vision of Uraan’s Five Es – Exports, Equity, E-Pakistan, Environment & Energy, and explored opportunities for future collaboration during our visit to the computer labs.

Together, we are empowering the youth to lead Pakistan towards a sustainable and prosperous future. 💪🌱

The Young Peace & Development Corps (YPDC) KUST, managed by the Youth Development Center (YDC), Kohat University of Science & Technology KUST, successfully organized a comprehensive and impactful SDG Leadership & Innovation Bootcamp in Abbottabad.

The session was led by Muhammad Jawad, President YPDC KUST, under the supervision of Dr Asif Ali, Focal Person YDC KUST.
We were honored by the presence of the Vice Chancellor, Abbottabad University of Science & Technology, Prof. Dr. Tahir Irfan, as the Chief Guest, along with Qazi Khurram, Focal Person YDC / YPDC AUST.

The distinguished guests appreciated the efforts of YPDC members and shared valuable insights on the importance of SDGs, the role of youth, and the impact of Youth Development Centers in shaping future leaders.

Certificates were distributed among active participants, while souvenir shields were presented to the honorable guests. The bootcamp marked a significant step towards youth leadership, social awareness, and building a sustainable Pakistan. 🇵🇰
