نمل پشاور سے انگلش لسانیات میں گریجویشن کرنے والی منیبہ اپنے علاقے سے اس باوقار سروس کا حصہ بننے والی پہلی خاتون ہیں، جو پورے قبائلی خطے کے لیے ایک قابلِ فخر اعزاز اور نوجوان طالبات کے لیے مشعلِ راہ ہے.

Pakistan reported two polio cases on Friday from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), bringing the total number of cases for the ongoing year to three.

An official of the Pakistan Polio Eradication Programme, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that the National Emergency Operations Centre for Polio Eradication (NEOC) has confirmed two new cases of wild poliovirus — one in Bannu and another in North Waziristan.

He added that access constraints in these areas continue to facilitate transmission of the virus, posing an ongoing risk to children’s health and well-being.

Aye, 17, had to leave her home in Syria and start over in Türkiye. Even after being displaced, she held on to her dream of becoming a hairdresser.

But life wasn’t easy. After facing bullying and harassment on her way to school, she dropped out and stayed home for two years.

“It made me feel helpless. I thought my dreams were over.”

Through a UNICEF-supported programme, Aye rejoined vocational training and rediscovered her passion. She now excels in hairdressing and uses her skills to empower others.

“One day, I’ll open a beauty salon where every woman leaves feeling strong and beautiful,” she says. “Or maybe I’ll study law and defend women like my mother — she’s my hero.”

With the right support, girls like Aye are not just getting their education back on track. They are shaping their own futures and showing what is possible when every girl has the chance to learn, lead and be heard.
