President SCCI Junaid Altaf, attended the inauguration ceremony of Haval Peshawar Motors as Chief Guest.

President SCCI Junaid Altaf congratulated the management of HAVAL Motors Peshawar on the opening of the new showroom and stated that such investments would not only promote the automobile sector but also create new business and employment opportunities at the local level.

📢 SESSION ON CASHLESS ECONOMY

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP BSC), Peshawar, is convening a stakeholder meeting under the Prime Minister’s Cashless Economy Initiative to review progress, address digital onboarding challenges, and promote financial inclusion through digital payments.

The session aims to strengthen coordination between the banking sector and the business community, identify practical solutions, and facilitate the transition towards a more efficient and transparent cashless economy.

Senior Vice President SCCI Muhammad Nadeem attended a prestigious ceremony held in Peshawar under the auspices of China Window.

The event was organized in honor of Presidential award recipients, Executive Committee member of the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry and President of the Abaseen Column Writers Association, Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi, and Jamshed Ali Khan, on being conferred with the Sitara-i-Imtiaz award.

Senior Vice President Muhammad Nadeem while representing the business community, extended heartfelt congratulations to both personalities and stated that their services will remain a guiding light for future generations. He also appreciated the management of China Window for organizing the event in a highly professional manner

President SCCI Junaid Altaf along With Executive Committee Member held a meeting with the Chief Commissioner Regional Tax Office - Peshawar to discuss important taxation and compliance issues being faced by the business community.

During the meeting, President SCCI highlighted serious concerns over fraudulent activities within the PRAL/FBR system, where unknown and unrelated sales tax invoices are appearing against the profiles of genuine taxpayers, including in Annexure-C, creating significant compliance challenges and unnecessary legal complications.

The Chamber also raised concerns regarding enforcement actions under Section 40B and the difficulties being faced by the transport and trading sectors. It was emphasized that such measures should be implemented in a business-friendly manner and should not disrupt legitimate commercial activities.

To ensure timely resolution of taxpayers’ issues, President SCCI proposed the notification of a joint coordination committee comprising representatives of the Sarhad Chamber and officials of FBR/RTO Peshawar. The committee would serve as a regular platform for consultation and prompt settlement of day-to-day tax matters.

Both sides agreed that continued coordination between tax authorities and the business community is essential for improving ease of doing business, strengthening documentation, and achieving sustainable revenue growth.

Vice President SCCI, Sabir Ahmad Bangash Signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Care International Pakistan to strengthen collaboration for the support and development of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), with a special focus on women entrepreneurs and green enterprise initiatives.

Under this MoU, both organizations will work together on multiple areas including provision of SME database support, identification and validation of eligible SMEs, outreach and mobilization of enterprises, facilitation of awareness-raising sessions, identification of master trainers, and promotion of climate-smart and green business practices among SMEs. The agreement aims to enhance engagement, capacity building, and effective implementation of SME-focused development activities across targeted districts, with the collaboration framework effective until 30th November 2026.

Secretary General SCCI, Muqtasid Ahsan, was also Present On the occasion.
