Toilet Training Session at PCA – PECHS Branch

Pakistan Centre for Autism (PCA) conducted a Toilet Training Session for parents of children under 5, led by Ms. Saeeda, Occupational Therapist.

The session focused on practical strategies to help parents support toileting skills, independence, healthy routines, and self-care development at home. Parents actively participated, asked questions, and gained valuable guidance to better support their children.

Our 2-day Dental Camp, organized in collaboration with The Dentist, was filled with learning, care, fun, and healthy smiles! ✨

A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Mehreen, her team, and all the dedicated volunteers for making both days so special. The team organized engaging activities, provided goodie bags for every child, and created a comfortable and enjoyable dental experience for our students. 🎁😊

They also raised awareness among parents, highlighting the importance of oral hygiene, regular dental check-ups, and healthy dental habits.

Physical activity can play an important role in supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Research suggests that stereotyped/repetitive behaviors and developmental delays can affect opportunities for motor skill development. Structured physical activity may help break this cycle by supporting gross motor skills while also contributing to reductions in stereotyped behaviors.

πŸ”ΉA 2024 meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials found significant improvements in gross motor outcomes following physical activity interventions, with improvements also reported in stereotyped behaviors.

πŸ”ΉFrom structured exercises and balance activities to movement-based play, physical activity can be an important part of a child's overall development and therapy journey.

Awareness Session in Recognition of World Physical Therapy Day

In recognition of World Physical Therapy Day, Pakistan Centre for Autism (PCA) was honored to participate in an insightful awareness session on β€œRole of Physical Therapy in Autism: Understanding Assessment, Intervention & Career Pathways.”

The session was hosted by Ziauddin College of Physical Therapy (ZCPT) and provided an excellent platform for students and professionals to gain a deeper understanding of how physical therapy can support individuals with autism.
