The Kidney Centre With 40 years of excellence in healthcare, TKC specializes in Urological & Nephrological services.

We also provide care in Cardiology, Haematology, Gastroenterology, Urogyne, Endocrinology, Neurology, General Surgery, Pulmonology & Infectious diseases. TKC is a not-for-profit specialized hospital providing quality care to patients suffering from kidney disease. TKC opened its door to the public in 1985 with a small dialysis unit consisting of just two machines. Today, TKC provides comprehensive

quality renal care to patients suffering from kidney and bladder problems. It has 100 in-patient beds, four operating theatres, and intensive care unit (with ventilators) for both adults and paediatrics, and a full range of Urological, Nephrological and transplant services. Patients suffering from kidney diseases are at risk of having other diseases as well, therefore the Centre also offers non-invasive Cardiology services as well as Gastroenterology services with Endoscopic facility. Consulting Clinics provide services in almost all specialties including nephrology, urology, transplant, cardiology, haematology, gastroenterology, general surgery, neurology, psychiatry, diabetology, paediatrics, physiotherapy and nutrition. Being a community project, TKC has also undertaken the task of educating the masses about common renal ailments which, when left unattended, lead to drastic, life threatening complications. It is very active in educating and spreading knowledge about health and disease prevention at all levels of society including schools, workplaces and public places. It continuously engages in activities and events whereby education and awareness is maximized. The Kidney Centre is certified with the Societies Registration Act, Voluntary Social Welfare Agency Ordinance, and the Pakistan Centre of Philanthropy.

The Kidney Centre marked International Nurses Day 2026 with a graceful and impactful ceremony celebrating the compassion, resilience, and clinical excellence of its nursing teams. The event was proudly supported by B. Braun Pakistan and Hoora Pharma (Pvt.) Ltd, reflecting strong collaboration in advancing healthcare quality and patient safety.

The occasion was graced by Dr. Rashid Jooma (CEO), along with Mr. Kashif Ghaniyani (CFO), followed by Dr. Syed Saeed Hassan Chishty (Administrator), Ms. Hina Ali Chaghani (Sr Manager & Head of Nursing), and Mr. Talha Zeb (Manager HR) and Mr. Faraz Ellam (Manager Marketing) who acknowledged the evolving role of nurses as the backbone of patient care and a key force in strengthening the healthcare system.

Every Clean Hand Protects a Life!
On the occasion of World Hand Hygiene Day , The Kidney Centre Post Graduate Training Institute organized an awareness and refresher training session under the supervision of Dr. Salima Rattani, Assistant Professor, Consultant Microbiologist, HOD Lab & Infection Control Department, along with Ms. Hina Ali Chaghani, Sr. Manager & HOD Nursing.
Staff members from Nursing, Laboratory, Infection Control, Housekeeping, Porters, Pharmacy, OT Technicians, and other departments participated in interactive sessions, educational videos, and Q&A activities highlighting the importance of hand hygiene in ensuring patient safety and a healthy healthcare environment. Certificates and appreciation gifts were also distributed among participants.

At The Kidney Centre, learning and collaboration remain an important part of our mission to support better healthcare practices.

TKC recently conducted a CME session on Hypospadias, featuring Dr. Wajahat Fareed, Consultant Paediatric Urologist, as the speaker. The session helped general practitioners understand the importance of early recognition, timely diagnosis, and prevention, followed by an informative Q&A discussion.

After the seminar, participants were taken on a guided tour of the hospital by The Kidney Centreโ€™s Marketing Manager, where they visited different sections of the facility and learned about the Hospitalโ€™s services and SOPs.
The session reflected The Kidney Centreโ€™s continued efforts to share knowledge and strengthen medical understanding among healthcare professionals.

Hot weather can affect more than your comfort. It can also place added stress on your kidneys. In some cases, heat stress and dehydration can reduce blood flow to the kidneys, worsen existing kidney problems, and increase the risk of acute kidney injury. People living with kidney disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, or a history of kidney stones may need to be especially careful.
Signs such as dizziness, weakness, headache, dark urine, reduced urination, nausea, and heavy sweating should not be ignored. Staying cool and hydrated can help, but for people with advanced chronic kidney disease or those on dialysis, fluid intake may need to be guided by a doctor rather than general advice.
If you are experiencing symptoms of dehydration or have concerns about your kidney health during hot weather, seek timely medical advice.
