YDA Sindh Expresses Concern Over Non-Payment of Stipends for Two Months
KARACHI, September 16, 2026: The Young Doctors Association (YDA) Sindh has expressed serious concern over the non-payment of stipends and salaries for the past two months to postgraduate trainees, house officers, fellows, and trainee medical officers at NICH.
In view of this situation, the NICH surgical team has boycotted surgical OPDs and elective surgeries. However, emergency surgeries and treatment of admitted patients will continue without interruption.
YDA Sindh and NICH representatives will submit official application to the Secretary Health, Sindh, on September 17, and will also submit official application to the Health Minister, calling for the immediate release of pending stipends at all hospitals and a reasonable increase in the stipends of house officers, postgraduate trainees, and fellows across Sindh.
*YDA Sindh makes it clear that if the pending stipends are not released within this week, a boycott of surgical OPDs as well as OPDs of all other departments at NICH will begin from Monday, September 21, along with formal protests.*
However, all emergency services, ICU services, and treatment of admitted patients will continue uninterrupted.
YDA Sindh demands the immediate release of the two months of pending stipends for young doctors and calls for their legitimate financial rights to be protected.
We demand from Sindh Govt. To end the stipend and pay Disparity of Sindh by increasing Stipends and pay of Trainees and doctors as the other provinces have finalized the pay-increase and stipend increase in the context of increased inflation.
