The Special Olympics Pakistan delegation proudly represented the country at the Special Olympics Asia Pacific Regional Athlete Congress 2026, joining athlete leaders and mentors from across the region for four inspiring days of learning, collaboration and leadership.

Throughout the Congress, our delegation participated in meaningful discussions on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), sharing lived experiences, exchanging ideas and exploring practical solutions to build more inclusive communities. From interactive workshops and group discussions to presenting their vision for a more inclusive world, our athlete leaders demonstrated the power of self-advocacy and leadership.

Beyond the sessions, our athletes built friendships with peers from across the Asia Pacific region, and connected with global partners through networking opportunities, including a special evening hosted by Bank of America. The Congress concluded at Google, where athletes used Google Gemini to bring their vision of their dream country to life and reflected on four days of growth, collaboration and inclusion.

The experience strengthened our athletes' confidence, leadership and commitment to creating a more inclusive world, one where every voice is heard and every individual has the opportunity to thrive.

As the new academic year begins, Beaconhouse School System kicked it off with its first educators' orientation session, bringing together 27 educators from its mainstream and Special Educational Needs (SEN) campuses across the Central region.

Facilitated by Special Olympics Pakistan, the session focused on expanding inclusive programming into new districts, including Faisalabad, Gujranwala, and Multan. Educators from campuses already implementing Fit 5, Unified Sports, and whole-school engagement shared practical strategies, lessons learned, and best practices to support successful implementation in these new locations.

A great start to another year of building more inclusive schools, strengthening collaboration among educators, and creating greater opportunities for students with and without special needs to learn and play together.
