LiveWIRE is a Shell social investment programme that aims to help young people around the world explore the option of starting their own business. Currently present in 19 countries, the programme was launched in Pakistan in January 2003 under the local name of Shell Tameer to encourage development of entrepreneurial skills in young people aged 18 – 35. Shell Tameer offers enterprise skills training; coaching and mentoring; opportunities for networking and market linkages; biennial awards to recognize and encourage innovative enterprises and post start-up support to help sustain businesses. Since it's inception, Shell Tameer has engaged over 75,000 people and supported over 1,000 businesses across Pakistan.

Strengthening Pakistan’s Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Through Collaboration

Following the successful Karachi engagement, the Tameer Awards 2026 Soft Launch continued its regional outreach in Islamabad, bringing together valued partners from academia, NIC Islamabad, industry leaders including LMKR, and Entrepreneurship Support Organizations from Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The engaging dialogue focused on strengthening collaborations, fostering ecosystem partnerships, and exploring new opportunities to build a more inclusive, innovative, and resilient entrepreneurial landscape through the Tameer Awards platform.

The event concluded with a networking lunch, reaffirming our shared commitment to empowering Pakistan’s next generation of entrepreneurs.

The session was attended by Aniqa Yaqub – Head of Government Relations, Wafi Energy Pakistan, Nida Tanzeel – Social Performance Manager, Wafi Energy Pakistan Limited, and Imran Azeem from the Tameer team, alongside key ecosystem stakeholders.

Enabling Pakistan's Entrepreneurial Ecosystem, Beyond Possibilities.

To acknowledge and engage our valued partners, Tameer hosted the Tameer Awards 2026 Soft Launch at Wafi House, Karachi, bringing together more than 60 influential stakeholders from industry, startups, entrepreneurship support organizations, academia, and media.

The highlight of the event was a thought-provoking panel discussion, expertly moderated by Nida Tanzeel - Social Performance Manager - Wafi Energy Pakistan Limited featuring distinguished leaders from Pakistan's entrepreneurial ecosystem:
•Azhar Rizvi – Director, Centre for Entrepreneurial Impact, Salim Habib University
• Syed Azfar Hussain – Director, National Incubation Center (NIC) Karachi
• Faizan Laghari – CEO & Co-Founder, Startup Syndicate

The panel explored the theme "Enabling Pakistan's Entrepreneurial Ecosystem: Beyond Possibilities," sparking an engaging dialogue on the opportunities, challenges, and collective actions needed to strengthen Pakistan's startup ecosystem.

The discussion concluded with a shared commitment from ecosystem partners to collaborate more closely and leverage the Tameer Awards platform to empower entrepreneurs, foster innovation, and accelerate sustainable economic growth across Pakistan.
