A memorable and impactful event was held at the Governor House KPK, where the Disabled Welfare Association (DWA), in collaboration with the Dr. Sanaullah Welfare Foundation, successfully distributed 50 active wheelchairs among deserving Persons with Disabilities.

We are deeply honored that the Honorable Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest alongside Tariq Samuel, COO of Disabled Welfare Association (DWA).

During the event, the Governor highly appreciated the humanitarian efforts of the Disabled Welfare Association and assured his full support for DWA initiatives in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa aimed at empowering and uplifting Persons with Disabilities.

A joyful celebration was organized in honor of Mr. Jawaid Rais (Founder Disabled Welfare Association) on receiving the prestigious Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (Civil Award) in recognition of his extraordinary dedication, hard work, and lifelong efforts for the empowerment and rights of persons with disabilities.

On this proud and memorable occasion, Mr.Zeezhan Yaseen (DEM, HANDS Welfare Foundation Karachi) and Ms. Erum Saim (Founder & President, Sakan-e-Sheza Trust) visited his center to personally congratulate him and share in the joy of this remarkable achievement.

The celebration was attended by children with disabilities, staff members, and participants associated with the center, creating a joyful and united atmosphere filled with happiness and appreciation. The Disabled Welfare Association (DWA), in collaboration with Mainstream Association for Persons with Disabilities, proudly donated 30 active wheelchairs in Multan to promote mobility, independence, and inclusion for Persons with Disabilities.

The Mainstream team warmly welcomed the DWA team and presented them with a shield as a token of appreciation for their remarkable efforts and commitment toward empowering Persons with Disabilities.

The event was honored by renowned disability movement leaders including Mr. Shafiq-ur-Rehman (President of Milestone), Mr. Asim Zafar (President of Saaya Association), Mr. Agha Hussnain Raza (Chairman of Pakistan Sports Council), Mr. Nasir Mehmood Sheikh(Social Activist), Mr. Babar Iqbal (Program Manager, DWA), and Mr. Nadir Khan (President of Mainstream).

Disabled Welfare Association (DWA) team, under the leadership of Jawaid Rais Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, Founder DWA, visited Edhi Home Multan. During the visit, respected Faisal Edhi, Chairman of the Edhi Foundation, was also present.

An important meeting was held regarding the skills development, empowerment, and inclusion of Persons with Disabilities. The meeting was attended by Jawaid Rais Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (Founder DWA), Nadir Khan (President, Mainstream Association of Persons with Disabilities), and Babar Iqbal (Program Manager Wheelchair Distribution, DWA).

The DWA team met with Persons with Disabilities residing at Edhi Home and shared moments of care, support, and encouragement. On this occasion, DWA proudly gifted 05 active wheelchairs to Persons with Disabilities at the Edhi Foundation, promoting mobility, dignity, and inclusion.

Disabled Welfare Association (DWA) had the honor of hosting a truly meaningful and inspiring visit by Ms. Naureen Ladhani (CSR, Sustainability & Human Resources, PARCO) and Mr. Salman Zakir (Corporate Communications & CSR, PARCO).

The DWA Team warmly welcomed the distinguished guests. Ms. Saima Ali, President of DWA, who shared valuable insights into the organization’s ongoing projects, services, and impact for persons with disabilities. Chief Executive Mr. Sohail Rais highlighted the challenges faced by persons with disabilities while also sharing inspiring success stories that reflect resilience, empowerment, and inclusion.

Jawaid Rais Tamgha-e-Imtiaz & Founder DWA) was also present and gave a comprehensive briefing on the philosophy and concept of Independent Living (IL), emphasizing how persons with severe disabilities can achieve independence, dignity, and empowerment through IL programs. The DWA team also provided a detailed visit to all departments and shared the remarkable work being carried out for the disability community.

The team of Disabled Welfare Association (DWA), along with Tamgha-e-Imtiaz Mr. Jawaid Rais (Founder DWA) visited Zardari House in Nawabshah for an important meeting with prominent social and political leaders.

The delegation met with Mir Mohammad Siyal (In-charge Zardari House), Mohammad Salim Zardari (President PPP District Nawabshah), and Rashid Chandio (Information Secretary), along with other key representatives.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held regarding the Assistive Devices Program, where plans were finalized for an upcoming distribution event aimed at supporting persons with disabilities in need.

Both teams reaffirmed their commitment to collaborative efforts for building an inclusive society and strengthening community support initiatives.

A grand program is scheduled for the third week of May where assistive devices will be distributed to deserving individuals.

The DWA team included Mr. Tariq Samule (COO DWA) and Mr. Babar Iqbal (Program Manager – Wheelchair Distribution), who actively contributed to the planning and coordination of this impactful initiative.

Together, we move forward with a shared vision of empowerment, accessibility, and inclusion for all.

The Disabled Welfare Association (DWA) team actively participated in a One-Day Add-on Capacity Building Training for Organizations of Persons with Disabilities, organized by Baanhn Beli at PILC Center Karachi.

The training was highly informative and focused on key topics including how persons with disabilities can actively participate in elections, the electoral process in both urban and rural areas, and awareness about the Right to Information Act. Participants were also guided on how to register complaints through the Pakistan Citizen Portal.

Important insights were shared regarding the structure of the National Assembly, including reserved seats for women, Muslims, and non-Muslims (minorities), as well as key provisions of the Election Act 2017, including the minimum age requirement for contesting elections.

The session was led by Master Trainer Ms. Saima (President, Disabled Welfare Association), along with Mr. Jhamandas (Program Manager, Baanhn Beli) and Mr. Muhammad Yaseen (Consultant, Baanhn Beli), under the supervision of Mr. Muhammad Younas (Director, Baanhn Beli).

Such initiatives play a vital role in strengthening democratic participation, awareness, and inclusion of persons with disabilities in society.
