Rotary Club of Karachi East held 2024-2025 last Business meeting on 1st July 2025.In this meeting,President 2024-2025 Prof.Dr.Najma Patel handed over the charge to President 2025-2026 Rtn Faysal Gulzar .
During this meeting as per our tradition we celebrated the birthday of members who have their birth days during 16th May to 30th June 2025 ,namely Rtn Eng Ahmed Waseem and Rtn .Mouhammad Shakeel. The Treasurer PP Muhammad Ali presented the Accounts of 2024-2025 and Annual budget for 2025-2026.President 2024-2025 presented the Annual report .Then out going president handed over the charge to incoming president by presenting the Chartered Certificate of RCKE . Meeting was adjourned by the President Faysal Gulzar.

RCKE celebrated its 55th Club Charter Night on 10th June,2025 to highlight its illustrious past spanning over more than a half century .
On this occasion presence of legendary Rotarian Past Rotary International Director Muhammad Faiz Kidwai added the prestige of this occasion.
In his keynote address he shared an inspiring reflection on his lifelong Rotary journey. Recalling his early years with RCK East which he joined in 1987, he paid homage to the club’s values that shaped his character and career. “The timeless principles of Rotary—service, integrity, and fellowship—continue to guide me in all aspects of life,” he noted. His thoughtful guidance is indeed inspiring for young Rotarians and Rotaractors, fostering their development as leaders and community contributors.

A delegation of RCKE visited Chartered Member of RCKE Rtn A .Wahab Jaffer to present the Medallion of Golden Member of RCKE. During this visit PP . Shamim A Shamsi was lapeled the pin of Silver member by Rtn . Jaffer. He presented his painting to the president
as an appreciation of her services.
All members showed their gratitude. I appreciate PP Aziz Ramjoo who co ordinated for organising this visit.

55th Charter Anniversary Celebration of Rotary Club of Karachi East
Chartered on 10th June 1970

RCKE celebrated its 55th Club Charter Night on 10th June,2025 to highlight its illustrious past spanning over more than a half century .President extended a special welcome to esteemed guests RID 2022-2024 M Faiz Kidwai , Mrs Uzma Kidwai, DG M.Rizwan Adhia District Rotaract Chair Dr Muddasir Hussain,
family members of our deceased rotarians Dr.Zeenat Moosa Ayub, Mrs Jalal Ansari. Rtn.Kishwar Allah Wala ,members of RCKE and their spouses. While acknowledging the notable achievements of the members and club past contribution at district level ,she specially mentioned Chartered President S K A Aziz who was the District Governor for 1979-198 and established a fund SKAAEF for giving scholarships to students which still exists .Late Jalal Ansari was DG nominee for 2015-2016 but he left this world before his tenure. She mentioned that two members completed 50 years of member ship ,one is our chartered member Rtn.Abdul Wahab Jaffer, another late Hassan Sait who passed away few months ago. She commended glorious past and shared few historic pictures reflecting the enthusiasm and commitment of the club with District. One was the photograph of the members of the Rotary Group Study exchange Team from Ohio in 1976 which was hosted by RCKE .RCKE also hosted District conference 1976 .
Then the legend of Rotary PRID Faiz Kidwai who was also the member of RCKE for his key note speech.
Adding prestige to the evening, Past Rotary International Director (PRID) Rtn. Muhammad Faiz Kidwai shared an inspiring reflection on his lifelong Rotary journey. Then members were given awards for recognition of membership of more than 25 years of RCKE
Rtn.A. Wahab Jaffer was awarded title of Golden Member of Rotary Club of Karachi East . He is the only chartered member now with us. The title of Silver member awarded to PP Shamim Ahmaed Shamsi, PP Gulzar Hussain Kazi ,PP M Ismail Khan, PP Abdul Aziz Ramjoo and PP Abdul Qadir Molvi. who are the members of RCKE for more than 25 years .
On this occasion few new members were also lapelled the pins.
The charter certificate was officially handed over to the new Rotaract Club of Young Researchers sponsored by RCKE which is testament of our commitment to youth engagement and leadership development.
In his keynote address, DG Rizwan Adhia extended heartfelt congratulations to the club for its remarkable legacy. He commended President Dr. Najma Patel for her dynamic leadership, particularly her efforts in rejuvenating club morale and inducting passionate young members into the Rotary fold. “The strength of Rotary lies in its continuity and innovation. RCK East is a shining example of both,” he remarked. At the end president and Silver members presented of memento for appreciation for attending this memorable event to PRID Faiz Kidwai and DG Rizwan Adhia
In her concluding remarks president mentioned that vision of rotary shared by Mr.Kidwai and DG will encourage and boost up specially our new members and rotaractos.

"Pakistan–Türkiye Brotherhood: Shared History & Heritage."
An evening with His Excellency Cemal Sang, Consul General of Republic of Türkiye
Rotary Club of Karachi East collaborated as co-host to organize this memorable event with Rotary Club of Karachi Karsaz along with Rotary Club of Karachi Quaid as co -host which was held on 3rdJune,2025 .
President RCK Karsaz Naveeda Mahmood welcomed the Chief Guest .
DG M Rizwan Adhia in his address mentioned that this evening is a vibrant reminder of the long-standing bond between Pakistan and Türkiye, celebrating not only diplomatic relations but the deep emotional, cultural, and historical connections shared between the two nations. He said “Rotary’s strength lies in its ability to connect hearts, when we celebrate shared heritage, we are laying the foundation for peaceful and prosperous futures.”
Then president RCKE Prof.Dr.Najma Patel while introducing Honorable chief Guest Mr Cemal Sango mentioned his services in Pakistan.
His Excellency Cemal Sangu, Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Karachi, mentioned that both countries have at least 1000 years of togetherness.
Both countries share historical ties, as the Muslims living under the British Raj deemed the Ottoman Sultan as their Caliph. As a result, Pakistan and Pakistanis had enjoyed a positive perception in Turkey and amongst Turks for many decades.
Mr.Sango also mentioned that many rulers of Hindustan have their ancestry back to Turkey. First Mughal King Babar was Turk. Moreover, the common cultural influences on Pakistan and Turkey span several centuries, as many Turkic and Iranic peoples ruled vast areas of Central Asia, South Asia and the Middle East.
He also mentioned many historical places in our country specially in Sind have Turkish architecture . Also mentioned various renowned personalities whose ancestors belong to Turkiyah specially Late Hassan Ali Effendi from Sind who was an educationist and credited as the founder of one of the first Muslim schools in British India,the Sindh Madrasatul Islam (established in 1885), located in Karachi. He also mentioned that word Urdu means Lashkar in Turkish language and Urdu language has many words from Turkish language .At the end he admired Rotary’s role in fostering goodwill between nations and acknowledged the efforts PRID Faiz Kidwai , DG Rizwan and the organizing clubs in creating such a meaningful platform. He emphasized that“Diplomacy thrives not only in embassies but in spaces like this, where people come together with open hearts,”
Past Rotary International Director Muhammad Faiz Kidwai who is the main driving force behind organizing such an enthralling event, in his concluding remarks praised the Consul General for giving very compendious insight about our common heritage and foundation of our brotherhood .He also mentioned that many of us have Turkish ancestry. He emphasized that we value relationship of Pakistan and Turkiyah. He also expressed his gratitude to Mr.Cemal Sango for sparing time and also appreciated the co host clubs and all those who attended to make this event successful.
