Konpal celebrated Pakistan Day in a befitting manner with little children of an orphanage " House of Bless (HOB)" Karachi.

Children dressed in green were too excited to be a part of the celebration.
The program started with a painting and sketching contest where children were asked to draw the Pakistan flag.
Ms Zainab Waqar Psychologist and active member of Konpal admistered a Human Figure Drwaing Test ( HFD) with children.
Ms Zainab will share her analysis of test and report in the next EC meeting of konpal. Drawings contest was followed by quiz were children were asked questions about Pakistan's founder ,flag etc.
The program formally started with Tilawat and Hamd, National songs and tableau were presented by children.

The program ended with the National Anthem. A cake cutting ceremony was held in the end. Refreshments and gifts were distributed to all children.

Konpal is grateful to its entire team for their active participation and making Independence Day Celebrations a memorable event.

Konpal Child Abuse Prevention Society (Konpal CAPS) successfully organized a seminar to observe World Breastfeeding Week (WBW) 2026 on 8th August, 2026, at the Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) House, Karachi.

The event brought together healthcare professionals, child rights advocates, and medical experts to promote breastfeeding and maternal and child health.

The seminar was chaired by Prof. Tipu Sultan and Prof. M. A. Arif, who highlighted the importance of breastfeeding in ensuring the health of mother and growth and development of children.

The program started with a welcome address by Dr. Khalil Mukkadam, Executive Member of Konpal CAPS and PMA.

Prof. Aisha Mehnaz, Chairperson of Konpal CAPS, delivered the keynote thematic talk on "Breast feeding sustainable start in Life; strengthening what works: highlighting the need for stronger support systems to improve breastfeeding practices.

Dr. Khalid Shafi, Chair of the National Technical Advisory Group (NITAG) Pakistan, spoke on Shielding the Start: Over coming Obstacles to Sindh's Breast feeding Mandates, discussing policy implementation and challenges.

Dr. Bushra Mohsin, HOD of Gynecology & Obstetrics at Kohi Goth Hospital, discussed nutrition of pregnant and lactating mothers.

The panel discussion followed which was moderated by Dr. Mirza Ali Azhar, Vice Chairperson of Konpal CAPS, he initiated important dialogue among experts and participants.

Prof. Mumtaz lakhani and Dr. Yasmeen kazi also joined the panel discussion and highlighted the importance of breast feeding.

The seminar concluded with the souvenir and certificate distribution by Dr.Farrukh Abbasi, Konpal Joint Secretary followed by vote of thanks by Ms. Shahnaz Yasin, General Secretary of Konpal CAPS.

Through this initiative, Konpal reaffirmed its commitment to promoting breastfeeding, safeguarding children's health, and supporting the well being of mothers and children across Pakistan.

The Social Welfare Department Government of Sindh organized a coordination meeting on 28th July 2026 at Social Welfare Training Centre Gulshan e Iqbal, Karachi.

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Najeeb ur Rehman, Additional Director, Social Welfare Department, along with Dr. Haseena Jamali, Deputy Director, and Ms. Amna, Assistant Director, District East.

Konpal CAPS was represented by Ms. Shahnaz Yasin, General Secretary and Mr. Muhammad Adil, Program Manager. Representatives from more than 10 NGOs also participated in the meeting.

The discussion focused on strengthening collaboration for child protection initiatives, promoting children's rights and exploring opportunities for joint awareness programs and community based interventions.

Together we reaffirm our commitment to building a safer and more protective environment for every child.

Konpal Child Abuse Prevention Society organised a capacity building workshop for school teachers of Jam Kanda Goth on "Stages of Child Development : Needs and Protection". on 25th July 2026.

Hands-on workshop, highlighted the various stages of child development and involved participants in identifying the physical,mental, psycho-social and moral /spiritual needs at various stages.

The participants were divided into 5 groups ,each group discuss the needs of child as per age and development.
They further outline the child protection strategies parents and teachers need to adopt.The workshop ended with address by Mr Majeed Baloch, Director of School. He greatly appreciated the efforts of Konpal in capacity building of teachers from remote areas and strengthening their skills. Certificates of participation was given to all.
