𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 – 𝐏𝐡𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐕𝐈𝐈 | 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐧
Organization for Social Development Initiatives (OSDI), with the collaboration of ASA Microfinance Bank-Pakistan-Ltd. has initiated Phase VII of the Livestock Development Project (LDP) in Mardan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, focusing on strengthening rural livelihoods through provision of livestock.
As part of the Phase VII activities, a Broad-Based Community Meeting (BBCM) was conducted to introduce the project to the community, explain its objectives and implementation process, and discuss beneficiary participation, responsibilities, and the support available under the project. A total of 40 beneficiaries attended the meeting and actively participated in the discussion.
Following the selection process, 40 selected beneficiaries signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), formally confirming their participation and consideration under the Phase VII project cycle. The MoU signing also provided an opportunity to clarify the roles, responsibilities, and commitments associated with participation in the project.
A capacity-building training session was subsequently conducted for all 40 beneficiaries, focusing on practical livestock management and care. The session covered areas including animal health, feeding and housing practices, routine livestock care, breeding management, and the identification, prevention, and management of common livestock diseases.
Through these activities, the project aims to support asset creation, income generation, food security, and sustainable livelihoods, while strengthening beneficiaries' knowledge and capacity to manage livestock more effectively.
