Empowering Women under PPAF’s Ba-Ikhtiyar Women Project in Collaboration with PTCL
Indus Earth Trust is pleased to announce the commencement of Training on Cosmetic E-Selling under the Ba-Ikhtiyar Women Project at Makli, Thatta.
A dedicated group of 25 women has been enrolled in the first batch, marking an important step toward building digital skills and expanding livelihood opportunities for rural women.
The Ba-Ikhtiyar Project, a partnership between the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) and PTCL, is designed to empower women to transition from traditional micro-enterprises to digitally enabled businesses.
Now in its Phase II, the project equips women with smartphones, internet connectivity, and practical training in e-commerce and financial literacy. This enables them to access wider markets, establish online businesses, and generate sustainable sources of income.
Beyond economic empowerment, the initiative also contributes to strengthening household resilience and advancing progress toward key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—including poverty reduction, health and well-being, gender equality, decent work, and innovation.
Together, we are creating pathways for women to thrive in the digital economy and build a more resilient future.
