Atif Farooqi, Advisor and Chief Operating Officer of the Pakistan–Romania Business Council (PRBC), along with Sohail Shamim Firpo, Chairman of PRBC, visited the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Karachi to sign the Book of Condolence following the passing of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati of the Kingdom of Thailand.

During their visit, Mr. Farooqi and Mr. Firpo expressed their heartfelt condolences to the Royal Family of Thailand and the people of the Kingdom of Thailand. They paid tribute to Her Royal Highness for her remarkable public service, dedication to humanitarian efforts, and contributions toward promoting goodwill and cooperation among nations.

The Pakistan–Romania Business Council extends its deepest sympathies during this period of national mourning and reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation between Pakistan and Thailand. PRBC also appreciates the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Karachi for arranging the Book of Condolence, allowing members of the diplomatic and international community to express their respect and solidarity.

Romania made a stunning impression at the Francophonie Film Festival 2026 in Karachi. Atif Farooqi, Advisor & Chief Operating Officer of the Pakistan Romania Business Council represented Romania along with Mashal Tareen, PRBC Regional Lead AI at the Romanian Film Screening.

The Romanian showcase featured Warboy, Crişan’s fifth feature film -an 85-minute cinematic triumph blending adventure, war drama, and western genres that has captivated audiences across Europe.
The film delivers a deeply human perspective on history’s darkest periods, celebrating the resilience of youth and the enduring bonds between families and homeland — themes that resonated powerfully with Pakistani and international audiences at the festival.

Atif Farooqi delivered an inspiring message:
“It is an honor to represent Romania here tonight at the Francophonie Film Festival in Karachi. We are proud to share Warboy, a film that reflects the strength, resilience, and spirit of the Romanian people. Islamabad, June 15, 2026: The leadership of the Pakistan Romania Business Council (PRBC), represented by Atif Farooqi, Advisor & Chief Operating Officer of Pakistan Romania Business Council, held its second round of talks with H.E. Rear Admiral Fred Senevirathne, High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Pakistan, to explore new avenues for trilateral trade, investment, and economic cooperation between Pakistan, Romania, and Sri Lanka. The delegation also included Hasnain Haider, Regional Lead PRBC.

During the discussion, both sides expressed interest in building on the momentum of earlier engagements and translating dialogue into actionable initiatives. The parties also highlighted the strategic value of connecting Pakistan’s production base, Sri Lanka’s maritime and regional connectivity, and Romania’s access to European markets.

The council also expressed deep appreciation for the unwavering support of Ambassador of Romania to Pakistan, Dr. Dan Stoenescu. Dr. Stoenescu’s dedicated efforts have been instrumental in strengthening bilateral economic ties between Pakistan and Romania, fostering trust between business communities, and creating a conducive environment for trilateral trade initiatives. Islamabad The Pakistan Romania Business Council (PRBC) is spearheading efforts to strengthen trilateral trade cooperation between Pakistan, Syria, and Romania. PRBC recently held discussions with H.E. Dr. Ramez Alraee, Ambassador of Syria, at the Syrian Embassy to explore new opportunities for collaboration in key sectors, including textiles, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and construction.

Atif Farooqi, COO & Advisor of PRBC, along with Mr. Hasnain Haider, PRBC Regional Lead, led the dialogue focused on enhancing trade connectivity, encouraging joint ventures, and creating greater market access for businesses across the three nations.

The meeting also highlighted the strategic Karachi–Constanța MOU, a significant initiative aimed at improving maritime connectivity, reducing transit challenges, and facilitating smoother access for Pakistani exports to European markets through Romania’s position as a gateway to Europe.

Pakistan Romania Business Council (PRBC) Advisor & Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Atif Farooqi, accompanied by PRBC Chairman, Mr. Sohail Shamim Firpo, attended a special Chinese film screening at the Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi. The event was organized to celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and the People’s Republic of China.

The distinguished gathering was hosted by Mr. Muhammad Irfan Soomro, Director General, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Mohammad Ahmed Shah (HI, SI), President of the Arts Council of Pakistan. The occasion was honored by the presence of the Chief Guest, H.E. Mr. Yang Yundong, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China.

The film screening served as a meaningful platform for cultural exchange, symbolizing the longstanding friendship, mutual trust, and strategic partnership shared by Pakistan and China.
