We are the Pakistan Independent Living Centre-Network, a dedicated group of advocates inspired by the Independent Living philosop
hy and movement. Our mission is to champion the rights and aspirations of people with disabilities (PwDs) in Pakistan. We are committed to fostering self-determination, equal opportunities, and self-respect for PwDs while challenging societal norms and dismantling barriers that hinder their progress.
🔹 Independent Living Philosophy:
At PILC-Network, we believe that Independent Living is not about doing everything alone; it's about ensuring that PwDs have the same choices and control in their lives as anyone else. PwDs deserve the chance to grow up with their families, attend neighborhood schools, use public transportation, pursue careers that align with their education and interests, and build their own families. This philosophy is the cornerstone of our advocacy work.

We firmly believe that PwDs are the foremost experts on their own needs. To effect change, we must actively involve PwDs in shaping the solutions they want, enabling them to take charge of their lives and ensuring they have the right to express their thoughts and desires just like anyone else.
