Inauguration of the Paediatric Eye Diagnostic Centre at NICH Karachi! 🏥👁️✨

Vision for Education Foundation (V4E), in proud collaboration with the National Institute of Child Health (NICH), has officially inaugurated the Paediatric Eye Diagnostic Centre (PEDC) at NICH Karachi.

The centre was inaugurated by esteemed guest Professor Dr. Muhammad Moin, Pro-VC of King Edward Medical University, Lahore. This dedicated facility marks a significant milestone in expanding access to specialized diagnostic eye care, early detection, and timely treatment for children across Sindh and beyond.

Three days. Two advanced surgical workshops. One shared goal — strengthening eye care in Pakistan.
The Institute of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences - SIOVS, Hyderabad f Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences (SIOVS), Hyderabad, and Vision For Education Foundation have come together to host hands-on Live Surgery Workshops running from 22 to 24 September 2026.
Two distinguished UK-based surgeons, Prof. Dr. Jeeva and Musa, are at SIOVS this week to train local ophthalmologists in Descemet Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty (DMEK) and Advanced Lacrimal Surgery — techniques that will now be available to patients right here in Sindh.
Prof. Dr. Memon of SIOVS leads the receiving team, taking these skills forward for the institution.
As an organisation that has facilitated over 1,500 corneal transplants across Pakistan, Vision for Education Foundation, understands that building local surgical capacity is just as critical as providing the tissue itself. Co-organising workshops like these is central to that mission.
None of this would be possible without the vision of Prof. Dr. Iqbal Talpur, Executive Director SIOVS, and the generosity of surgeons who believe in giving back.

A new partnership for the children of Lahore.
Vision for Education Foundation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with King Edward Medical University and Mayo Hospital, Lahore, for a School Eye Screening Programme.

Under this partnership, screening teams will reach schoolchildren across Lahore. Children found with refractive errors will receive spectacles. Those needing further examination, treatment or surgery will be referred to the Paediatric Ophthalmology Department at COAVS, Mayo Hospital.

Our thanks to Prof. Muhammad Moin, Pro Vice Chancellor, King Edward Medical University, for his confidence and his guidance.
