There is no honour in killing.
Today, UN Women joined the Ministry of Human Rights, the Human Rights Department, Government of Sindh, the Sindh Commission on the Status of Women, and the Special Assistant for Human Rights to the Chief Minister Sindh for Special Session in Sindh on femicide, reaffirming a simple but urgent principle: the life and dignity of every woman and girl in Sindh and entire Pakistan are not negotiable. The participants from law enforcement ,civil society , Bar association thy attend session.
The Joint Communiquรฉ on ending gender-related killings of women and girls (femicide) calls for stronger accountability, survivor-centred protection, improved data systems, the rejection of parallel justice mechanisms, and collective action to challenge harmful social norms that enable these crimes in Sindh.
Ending killings committed in the name of so-called โhonourโ requires coordinated action across institutions, communities, media, educators, religious leaders, and civil society.
Together, we must ensure prevention, protection and justice.
