There is no honour in killing.

Today, UN Women joined the Ministry of Human Rights, the Human Rights Department, Government of Sindh, the Sindh Commission on the Status of Women, and the Special Assistant for Human Rights to the Chief Minister Sindh for Special Session in Sindh on femicide, reaffirming a simple but urgent principle: the life and dignity of every woman and girl in Sindh and entire Pakistan are not negotiable. The participants from law enforcement ,civil society , Bar association thy attend session.

The Joint Communiqué on ending gender-related killings of women and girls (femicide) calls for stronger accountability, survivor-centred protection, improved data systems, the rejection of parallel justice mechanisms, and collective action to challenge harmful social norms that enable these crimes in Sindh.

Ending killings committed in the name of so-called “honour” requires coordinated action across institutions, communities, media, educators, religious leaders, and civil society.

Together, we must ensure prevention, protection and justice.

A high-level meeting regarding the operationalization of Special Courts for Persons with Disabilities was conducted today, May 19, 2026, under the chairmanship of Director General SPDPA, Mr. Ghulam Farooq Laghari, at the SPDPA office in Karachi.

Different stakeholders from the Government of Sindh, Bar Association, and Law Department attended. Mr. Advocate Altaf Khoso, CEO of PLUS, gave a detailed presentation on inclusive courts.

Following the directives of the Honorable Chief Minister of Sindh, the session focused on strengthening inter-departmental coordination, ensuring disability-inclusive infrastructure, and streamlining legal facilitation to make the notified Special Courts fully functional across the province.

🌟 Assistive Devices Distribution Ceremony – Inclusive Access to Justice 🌟

The Assistive Devices Distribution Ceremony for Inclusive Access to Justice was successfully held at Avari Hotel, Karachi, organized by Pakistan Legal United Society (PLUS). The event aimed to strengthen accessibility and inclusion within the legal and judicial system for Persons with Disabilities, ensuring equal access to justice for all.
Mr. Javed RaIs, President of PILC and recently honoured with the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, graced the occasion and shared his valuable insights on the importance of accessible justice. He emphasized the need for continued efforts to remove barriers and ensure that persons with disabilities can fully exercise their legal rights with dignity and independence.
The ceremony reflected a collective commitment towards building an inclusive justice system where accessibility, equality, and human dignity remain at the forefront of legal and institutional reforms.

On international day of Assistive devices during thr distribution the assistive devices for inclusive courts graced the event organised by PLUS,he added that
designated courts for differently-abled individuals were notified back in 2019, our district justice departments still face heavy physical and communication hurdles. Today's initiative by PLUS and DEPD directly addresses these gaps. By integrating tools like hearing aids, smart glasses, and tablets into our infrastructure, we are helping judges, lawyers, and litigants communicate effectively. This is how we reduce trial delays and ensure fair, unhindered access to legal remedies. ⚖️📜

🤝 *ASWD & PLUS Sign MoU for Inclusive Support of Persons with Disabilities* 🤝

Autism Spectrum Disorder Welfare Trust - ASWD and PLUS signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Monday, 8th June 2026 at the ASWD Office to collaborate for the welfare of Persons with Disabilities.

*Objective of the MoU:*
1. *Legal Support*: PLUS will provide legal assistance to families coming to ASWD Trust for rehabilitation of their children, along with legal sensitization sessions.
2. *Capacity Building*: ASWD will participate with PLUS in training sessions for police, lawyers, and other stakeholders. These sessions will focus on psychological support, understanding Autism and similar conditions, behavioral aspects, and improving interaction with Persons with Disabilities.
