Recently, Mr. Takuo Ikeda, the Chief Representative and Country-Head of Pakistan, of MUFG Bank Limited, Pakistan Liaison Office bid farewell to the PJBF Board; as his tenure came to an end in Pakistan and he ventured back to the Japanese city of Tokyo. He has been succeeded by Mr. Kengo Miura, Managing Director, Head of Pakistan Liaison office, MUFG Bank, here in Karachi.

The PJBF Board and team wishes Mr. Ikeda, the very best for his future ahead and warmly welcomes Mr. Miura in the city of Karachi.

On 15th May 2026, a courtesy call was made by H.E Ambassador S. Akamatsu, the Envoy from Japan to Pakistan, to the new office site of Pakistan Japan Business Forum which got recently re-located to Beach Luxury Hotel, in Karachi.

H.E showed deep interest in the new location and gave his kind approval of the new place through his talk where he mentioned that feasible trade ties must endure in terms of better trade enhancement between Pakistan and Japan; while wishing the staff at the PJBF Secretariat with his full support through and through.

The Ambassador was accompanied by his wife and his staff member.

On the 14th May 2026, the day marked a remarkable moment at the PJBF Training, 'Kaizen Dojo' Closing Ceremony, where Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan & Patron In-Chief PJBF; H.E Mr. Shuichi AKAMATSU, emphasized the transformative power of "Kaizen" a Japanese methodology of continuous improvement. He expressed gratitude to PJBF and AOTS Karachi for their invaluable contributions to human resource development in Pakistan.

Patron H.E. Masaru Hattori, Chairman PJBF; Mr. Murtaza Mandviwalla, Chairman Training Committee & Secretary General PJBF Mr. Hamza Bin Tariq; Senior Vice Chairman Akihiro Yoshimura; and Vice Chairman Syed Feroz Alam Shah, along with the Ambassador of Japan, distributed certificates to all participants of the training; powered by Pak Suzuki Motor.

The Pakistan-Japan Business Forum (PJBF) has successfully concluded its triennial elections, appointing a new 20-member Board of Directors for the 2026–2029 tenure. Maintaining its commitment to bilateral parity, the board comprises ten Pakistani and ten Japanese directors.

PJBF Board in its 167th meeting, elected, Mr. Murtaza Yousuf Mandviwalla, as Chairman, spearheading a strategic mandate to bolster industrial & trade relations between the two nations. The newly elected leadership reaffirmed the Forum’s role as a primary bridge for economic cooperation, aiming to streamline the ease of doing business and foster joint ventures. The PJBF extends its gratitude to the outgoing directors for their stewardship.
The new directors have scheduled to commence their term from April 22, 2026 onwards.
