VITAL Pakistan Trust VPT, established in 2013, providing free health-care services to Mothers and Children across Sindh.

VITAL’s story began in Rehri Goth – an impoverished peri-urban community of over 60,000 residents on the outskirts of Karachi, Pakistan. Through baseline surveys conducted in the community in 2012 and 2013, we learnt that Rehri Goth had a neonatal mortality of 57 deaths per thousand live births and an under-5 mortality of 107 deaths per thousand live births. A comprehensive vision of health was needed to help those who were consistently being left behind. Currently, Vital Pakistan Trust is present in over 40 sites across Karachi, providing free health-care services to Mothers and Children.

On 16 September 2026, VITAL Pakistan Trust conducted its first female community awareness session under the initiative “Mehfooz Maa, Mehfooz Mustaqbil” in Shafiq Colony, Karachi.

The session brought together 35 women for an interactive discussion on antenatal care, safe delivery, postnatal care, and the importance of seeking timely medical care and referral when complications arise.

The participants also learned about VITAL Pakistan Trust’s maternal healthcare services and how they can access support when needed. Their active participation and questions made the session a meaningful opportunity to discuss the importance of informed and timely healthcare-seeking practices.

This session marks an important step in strengthening maternal health awareness within communities and ensuring women have the information they need to make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing.

VITAL Pakistan Trust (VPT) conducted a PPFP Performance Review and Stakeholder Coordination Meeting at Ruth K.M. Pfau Civil Hospital, Karachi, led by Dr. Nausheen Naz and her team.

The meeting was attended by the Heads of the three Gynaecology Units, Dr. Shakira Parveen, Dr. Farah Deeba, and Dr. Aneela, along with the respective Birth Spacing focal persons.

VPT highlighted the significant achievement in Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) uptake, which increased from 2.9% at baseline to 31.5%, reflecting the dedicated efforts of the hospital teams and VPT’s Postpartum Family Planning (PPFP) counselors.

The HODs appreciated the contribution, efforts, and hard work of VPT and its PPFP counseling team. They reaffirmed their commitment to continued collaboration to strengthen birth spacing and postpartum family planning services and expand access to modern contraceptive methods.

VITAL Pakistan Trust (VPT) marked the opening ceremony of its clinic in Ibrahim Hyderi Extension, recognising Hilton Pharma’s support for expanding access to Mother & Child Healthcare services for the local community.

As part of this collaboration, Hilton Pharma is supporting VPT with Fercari, an iron infusion used in the management of iron-deficiency anaemia in pregnant women, as part of healthcare support initiatives.

During the visit, the Hilton Pharma team toured the clinic to learn more about its operations and the healthcare services available for women and children.

The partnership reflects continued efforts to strengthen community healthcare initiatives and improve access to essential health services.

VITAL Pakistan Trust (VPT) held an opening ceremony to mark Hilton Pharma’s support for the VPT clinic in Ibrahim Hyderi Extension, which provides essential Mother & Child Healthcare services to the community.

The Hilton Pharma team had the opportunity to see firsthand how the clinic operates, learn about the services provided, and understand how VPT delivers care to women and children in the community.

As part of this partnership, Hilton Pharma is also supporting VPT with Fercari, an iron infusion used to treat iron-deficiency anaemia in pregnant women, helping women receive timely care during pregnancy.
