About us:
Dr Waheed Mughal founded Irshad Welfare Trust in 1994 to commemorate his late mother Irshad Begum. The purpose of the trust was to help the poor students in subdivision Pind Dadan Khan, Jhelum, Pakistan. Irshad Rural Welfare society was founded in 1998 to enhance the trust activities to other developmental projects in the area like health, human rights, public awareness and women devel

opment etc. Dr Waheed Mughal founded Rural Areas Development Council in 1999, Irshad Welfare Trust and Irshad Rural Welfare Society were emerged in the Council and it was named ' Rural Areas Development Council- Al-Irshad' (RADC-Al-Irshad)
RADC-Al-Irshad is not for profit organization. It is not involved in any trade or profitable business within or outside the country. All the projects carried out on no- profit, no- loss basis. Membership fees, donations and sponsorships are main sources of income. The Council has helped more than two thousands poor students in Tehsil Pind Dadan Khan in completing their school education. It coordinated with Community Development Council-Al-Markaz, Jhelum (2002-2004) completing a non-formal female literacy project 'Voicing of the Poor' in the sub division PD Khan. Through this project 45 non-formal literacy centres were opened in the remote villages and about 500 girls aged between 12-25 were educated and trained to earn livelihood.
'Awareness Forum' is a popular project of the Council where officials of different departments are invited to deliver lectures regarding the facilities/regulations of their departments and how a common man can access them. The Council actively working against drug addiction and drug Mafia in the area. The drug addicts are facilitated with free treatment with the help of donors and trust hospitals. Nei Zindgi (New Life) Trust Pakistan is very much in cooperation with the Council offering free treatment for the addicts. The Council holds an annual Kabbadi Tournament with a slogan 'Manishiat say inkar---Zindgi say Payar' (Love Life----Hate Drugs) to engage youth in healthy activities. In July 2020, the Council was also registered with the Punjab Charity Commission, Government of the Punjab under the Punjab Charities Act 2018 via registration number PB-JLM-3351554969600775.
