A Session on Mindset, Growth & Knowing Your Worth

While many sessions at Config 2026 focused on technology and AI, Hammad Khan, Founder of Posybl, reminded us that the biggest investment we can make is in ourselves.
His talk challenged designers to rethink not only how they work, but also how they see themselves and their careers.

Some of the most valuable lessons included:

🌍 Think Beyond Borders 
Hammad encouraged designers to break free from limiting mindsets and stop comparing themselves only within local markets. The world is full of opportunities, and Pakistani designers have the talent to compete globally.

🗣️ Communication Is a Superpower 
Design skills alone aren’t enough. Being able to present ideas clearly, communicate confidently, explain design decisions, and build strong relationships with clients and teams is what truly sets great designers apart.

💰 Know Your Value 
One of the strongest messages from the session was about pricing. Too often, designers underestimate their work and hesitate to charge what they’re truly worth. Hammad emphasized that clients pay for the value, impact, and solutions designers create not just the hours they spend.

His session was a powerful reminder that building a successful design career isn’t only about mastering tools or keeping up with trends.

It’s about confidence, communication, continuous learning, and believing in the value you bring to every project.

How AI Is Redefining the Future of Design

One of the most thought-provoking sessions at our Config 2026 Watch Party was delivered by Zeeshan Ahmed, Founder of Cigul, who explored how Artificial Intelligence is reshaping the design industry.

Rather than asking whether AI will replace designers, Zeeshan encouraged us to ask a more important question:

“How can designers use AI to create better experiences, solve bigger problems, and unlock new possibilities?”

His session highlighted that AI is no longer just a productivity tool it’s becoming a creative partner. From accelerating ideation to simplifying repetitive tasks and enabling entirely new workflows, AI is transforming the way designers think, collaborate, and build products.

One of the biggest takeaways was that the role of a designer is evolving. Today, we’re expected to do much more than create visually appealing interfaces. We’re becoming strategists, problem solvers, facilitators, and creators of intelligent experiences powered by emerging technologies.

As AI continues to evolve, so must our skills, our mindset, and our willingness to adapt.

The designers who embrace change, stay curious, and continuously learn will be the ones shaping the future of our industry.
One line from his talk perfectly captured the spirit of the session:

“The way we design today won’t be the way we design tomorrow.”

Config 2026 came to Islamabad, and the city showed up.

Picture this: a room full of designers, developers, founders, students, and product builders, screens glowing with the biggest reveals from Config 2026, and conversations that didn't stop even after the sessions ended. That was Sunday, and it was everything we hoped the first ever Friends of Figma Islamabad watch party would be.

What started as a simple idea turned into something bigger. People came in curious, stayed for the energy, and left with new ideas, new connections, and a reason to keep building.

Some moments really hit different.

Four voices, one stage. Fawad kamal, Muhammad Hanif, Hammad Khan, and Zeeshan Ahmed took us through the latest Config 2026 announcements, AI, freelancing, product building, and where UI/UX is headed next. Every session brought something practical to take home. Real talk, real lessons, zero fluff.

The questions were the best part. You didn't just watch, you challenged, debated, and dug deeper. That back-and-forth is exactly what a healthy design community looks like, and it is why events like this matter.
