As Founder of A4EAI, I was proud to join an inspiring roundtable hosted by UNESCO Pakistan titled, AI for Humanity: Multi-Stakeholder Dialogue on Ethical and Inclusive AI in Pakistan, where diverse voices from civil society, tech, and policy united to champion inclusive, gender-responsive AI. Because when women lead in AI, we build systems that uplift everyone.

In the wake of the recent India-Pakistan tensions, AI-generated content, from deepfakes to fabricated voice clips, has flooded social media, blurring the line between truth and fiction. As history repeats itself through digital propaganda, today’s tools are faster, more convincing, and harder to detect.
Unfortunately, it is often marginalized communities with limited digital literacy who are most vulnerable to this wave of disinformation, accepting false narratives without question. The weaponization of AI in conflict reporting calls for urgent ethical safeguards, stronger media verification frameworks, and inclusive digital literacy efforts. Responsible AI isn’t a luxury — it’s a necessity for peace, truth, and public trust.

Dubai’s AI-driven transformation in government is a compelling example of how strategic integration of technology can streamline public service delivery and build citizen trust. In contrast, Pakistan remains held back by outdated, paper-based systems that limit both efficiency and accessibility. For Pakistan to move forward, digital transformation must be seen as a national imperative, not just a tech upgrade.
But real progress demands inclusive policy-making. External stakeholders, from technologists and academia to civil society and private industr; must be part of this process, not only because they bring expertise, but because they are the very users of these systems. Co-creating smarter governance ensures that public processes are not only efficient and future-ready, but also truly beneficial to those they’re designed to serve.
