CALL FOR CONSULTANTS – CREATIVE SKILLS & ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT TRAINING

🌱 BERD Foundation, under the Local Area Development Program (LADP) – Neelum District, AJK, is seeking qualified consultants/firms to deliver Creative Skills Training and Enterprise Development Training (EDT) for youth and persons with disabilities.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

✅ Train youth and PWDs in marketable creative skills and traditional crafts
✅ Introduce craft development, value addition, and marketing techniques
✅ Deliver a 5-day Enterprise Development Training to help participants develop business plans and start small enterprises
✅ Engage local artisans as mentors to transfer skills and preserve cultural crafts

WHO CAN APPLY:

Degree in Vocational Training, Business Development, Social Sciences, or related fields

Experience in craft development, entrepreneurship training, and working with youth/PWDs

Strong facilitation skills and ability to create training materials in Urdu

DURATION:

15–20 working days (assessment, preparation, training delivery, and reporting)

Empowering Community & Growing Food Security in Neelum Valley!

Berd Foundation, under its **Local Area Development Program** in AJK and with the support of Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund , successfully conducted a plantation drive in UC Salkhala, Village Palri.

🍎 Fruit-bearing trees including pomegranate, peach, apple, apricot, and plum were distributed amongst local village organizations. Seasonal vegetable seeds were provided to female farmers and women-led agriculture committees to strengthen their skills and promote food security.

Together, we are empowering women, supporting sustainable agriculture, and building a greener Neelum Valley!

**Empowering 100 Women in Neelum Valley

Celebrating women as Agent of change in agriculture

As we approaching International Women's Day BERD Foundation, under the Local Area Development Program in AJK with the support of the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund ( PPAF) continues its efforts to empower women-led community committees in Neelum Valley

Through capacity-building sessions and practical orientation on model farm women are being equipped with knowledge of Climate-smart agriculture practices.The initiative also provides seasonal vegetable seeds for kitchen gardening. enabling women to replicate these practices at the household level.

These efforts are strengthening women’s role in sustainable agriculture, improving household food security,and supporting climate-resilient livelihoods across the region.

On this international Women’s Day, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and leadership of rural women who are playing a vital role in building a
more sustainable and food-secure future. 🌱

Strengthening Disaster Resilience in AJK!

BERD Foundation, with the funding support of Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund ( PPAF)and in collaboration with the State Disaster Management Authority, AJK , successfully organized a training on Technical Assistance for Local Authorities in Disaster Risk Management in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Participants gained practical skills to mitigate disaster risks, respond effectively to emergencies, and strengthen community preparedness. The training concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony by District Officer Forest Mr. Haroon Awan,who emphasized the critical importance of preparedness and resilience for sustainable development.

Fruitful Coordination Meeting in Muzaffarabad

A productive coordination meeting was held with the Agriculture Department AJK in Muzaffarabad,where Mr. Amir Deputy director Training and Adaptive Research met with Project Coordinator Ms. Tahira Kazmi.

During the meeting, Ms. Tahira Kazmi briefed him on the Climate Smart Agriculture initiatives being implemented in Neelum Valley under the Local Area Development Programme,funded by Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF)

Mr. Amir assured full collaboration and appreciated the dedicated efforts of BERD Foundation in promoting climate-resilient agriculture and empowering farmers in Neelum Valley.

welcoming Spring with Climate-Smart Agriculture in Neelum Valley 🌸

**BERD Foundation,with the funding support of the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF), under the Local Area Development Programme (LADP) in AJK, is promoting Climate-Smart Agriculture by establishing a Model Farm for farmer learning, practice, and demonstration of sustainable farming techniques.

As part of this initiative, we warmly welcomed the spring season with the establishment of a fruit orchard🌳
More than 40 fruit-bearing plants have been planted in Neelum Valley, including:

🍎 Apple
🍑 Apricot
🍎 Pomegranate
🍑 Peach
🍑 Plum
🌰 Walnut

This model farm will serve as a learning hub for local farmers, promoting climate-resilient farming, sustainable livelihoods, and food security for mountain communities.
