From the vibrant heritage and culture of 𝗨𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗸𝗼𝘁, 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗵 to the resilient spirit of its people – this week we were pleased to take United Nations - Pakistan Resident Coordinator Mr. Mohamed Yahya, colleagues from UNICEF, FAO, WHO, WFP, UNDSS, UNRCO, government partners from PHED & P&D Sindh to Umerkot.

Together, we inaugurated UNOPS’ upgraded 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗲 under United States-funded Improved Access to Water & Sanitation Project.

Equipped with sand filters, storage tanks & a 14 km distribution network, this scheme now delivers safe drinking water to more than 5,000 residents at their doorstep – replacing the daily 8–10 km journeys families once made for unsafe and unhealthy water.

We also visited the UNOPS-established Water Testing Lab in Umerkot, ensuring that water quality meets safety standards, and inaugurated a new toilet block at Girls High School Umerkot – giving 1,770 girls & handwashing facilities.

These efforts bring and for communities – improving , -being, , and , contributing to , and transforming the lives of 𝟑𝟎𝟎,𝟎𝟎𝟎+ 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 in Umerkot & Tank.

✅ UNOPS Pakistan successfully organized the Virtual UNOPS Possibilities (UP) Forum on “Doing Business with UNOPS,” bringing together vendors from across Pakistan to enhance their capacity to work with the United Nations through the UNGM e-procurement system.

This engaging session created a valuable space for businesses to better understand UNOPS procurement processes, explore opportunities at both national and international levels, and connect with a diverse and inclusive supply chain 🤝

UNOPS will continue to organize more sessions like this to help build the capacity of local businesses, create new opportunities, and strengthen partnerships. Our commitment remains strong – empowering MSMEs and fostering sustainable growth. 🌱📈
