📍 Islamabad, Pakistan

Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) organised a comprehensive one-day orientation session on its Management Information System (MIS) for its partner organisation, Kurram Welfare Home (KWH).

The session was led by Mr Majid Khan, Manager MIS, who shared valuable insights on streamlining data and information flows to enhance the efficiency of project implementation. Mr Sami Khan (Programme Director), Mr Mohsin Hadi (Head of Procurement), and Mr Khawaja Mohid (MIS Specialist) participated actively, ensuring that the learnings will be effectively applied to the ongoing project “Promoting Gandhara’s Civilisation and Heritage for Sustainable Ecotourism in Pakistan” as well as in future initiatives.

The orientation was devised to strengthen the capacity of KWH’s MIS focal persons by equipping them with the knowledge and skills to accurately manage project data within PPAF’s MIS platform. This effort is a significant step towards ensuring transparency, accountability, and effective delivery of project outcomes.

Being implemented in Taxila, District Rawalpindi, the project aspires to celebrate and safeguard the legacy of the Gandhara Civilisation. By promoting responsible ecotourism practices, it seeks not only to preserve this rich cultural heritage for future generations but also to generate sustainable livelihoods for local communities.

Expected outcomes include the conservation of Gandhara’s heritage sites, monuments, and artefacts, together with the promotion of ecotourism ventures that provide both social and economic uplift. These efforts reflect PPAF’s enduring commitment to protecting the past while empowering communities towards a more inclusive and sustainable future.
A big shout-out to Mr Shahid Hussain, whose dedicated efforts made this capacity-building orientation possible.
