Rural Trust is working on different themes for rural development and achieving organizational objectives. Rural Trust has been working since 1990 in following areas:
Education:
Educational Development in rural areas is a main objective of Rural Trust, for this purpose Rural Trust conducts training workshops, seminars, mobilization activities, mass and media campaigns, socia
l gathering and utilize all types of advocacy tools. The Trust is working for enhancement of education and awareness among the people to admit their children in school. For this purpose the organization helps those children who cannot bear educational expenses. Provide school uniform to 50 students in F.G Boys Higher Secondary School, Bhara kau, Islamabad.
2. Provide Rs.10000 for boring to F.G.Girls High School,Kot Hathyal, Bharakau,Islamabad.
3. Provide Uniform to 35 students in F.G.Boys High School,Shahdara, Islamabad.
4. Provide water tank for drinking and opening of toilets in F.G.Primary School,Rumly, Islamabad.
5. Educational Development
On the request of our organization the Rotary Club of Islamabad provide two teachers, furniture’s ,water tanks for drinking & opening of toilets to F.G.Girls Primary school,Nai Abadi Bharakau and F.G.Boys Primary School, Bharakau, Islamabad. F.G boy’s primary school was a maktab school. Federal Directorate of Education upgrades (those schools on the request of our organization. Model School (English Medium School in Madrasas)
Start a model school in a madrasas in which modern education English Medium School and Islamic studies. One imam Masjid allows us to start school in Mosque/Madrasas. We start model school in Madrasas Building have 15 class rooms /hostel etc. We provide Nursery class to metric in English Medium School & Islamic Studies in this school/madrasas Hifz, Nazra, Tajveed & Tafseer ul Quran & Dars-e-Nizami & Arabic Language courses for Girls & boys. Health:
Trust worked on health in different districts especially Flood Affected districts were focused during disaster. In both floods flood of 2010 and 2011, Trust played role with its own capacity and human resource. Organization actively participated in relief work; by these activities Trust provided benefits to thousands of flood affectless. The Organization holds following Medical Camps in Islamabad Rural area
1. October 1999 with the help of Rotary Club and PMDC
2. January 2000 for special people with the help of Social Welfare & Special Education, Department Islamabad.
3. November 2001 PMDC & Rotary Club
4. Two Medical Camps with the help of Rescue 15 Police. A free Medical Dispensary was worked in Mohallah Chaudhrian (Area Office of RURAL TRUST) Bharakau. A MBBS doctor provided necessary advice to the patients twice a week. This dispensary was later on Closed. Environment:
Environmental protection is an important component of Rural Trust’s objectives Trust conducted awareness walks, rallies, training workshops and other programs. Rural Trust also organized activities of plantation in different areas in which hundreds of plants were planted on each location. Democracy:
Democracy is a political system which is essential for developing free and balanced society. Rural Trust believes in democratic values, it promotes democratic values for peace, harmony and social peace. Democracy is important political requirement for those societies where politics has been exploited by non democratic forces. For promotion of democratic values Rural Trust conducts dialogue programs, seminars and community based advocacy works on root level in rural areas. Community Development:
Community Development is emerging discourse in rural areas, because vibrant media institution and non-governmental organization contributed to aware people to be active on community level. The Organization body met with Deputy Commissioner, Islamabad and proposed for the following development projects:
1. Construction of Quaid-i-Azam University to shahdara road, Via Rumly village & all roads in the Rumly Village, Islamabad.
2. The Organization met with CDA chairman for play ground for children in Rumly Village Islamabad.
3. Construction of streets in Bharakau Islamabad.
4. Mohallah Jandala Road,Shahdara & shahdara in side village roads. Before establishment of Rural Area Development Organization our team has work for development of the area with the collaboration of the following NGOs since 1996
1 National Rural Support Program (NRSP)
1 Rotary Club of Islamabad (Cosmopolitan)
Following development work was completed with the financial help of above mentioned NGOs.
1. Water Supply Schemes
Two water supply schemes has been completed one with the financial help of NRSP and other with the financial help of Rotary club of Islamabad. The fund provide by NGOs was 80,000/- and 40,000/-respectively. While the total expenditure was 115,000/-each. In each case rest of amount was born by the organization and community. Both schemes are providing water to more than 200 houses. Vocational Training
1. One Women vocational Training Center was worked (August 1999 to 2001) with the minor financial help of Rotary Club of Islamabad. More than 200 women learn sewing and stitching from this center. This center was later on Closed.
2. A Computer Literacy Center was established with the collaboration of District Government, Islamabad and Rotary Club of Islamabad at union council, Bharakau. More than 250 (male & females0 people completed basic computer courses. This center was later on Closed. Disaster Management/ Reduction:
Disaster Risk Management/ Reduction is focused objective of RURAL TRUST, because since two dangerous disaster it is need to on this. For this objective RURAL TRUST conduct capacity building programs in rural areas to trained people regarding disaster that how they can face disaster by utilizing their own capacity without dependency. In these trainings RURAL TRUST trained villagers on escape plan, rescue, first aid and other mechanism by which people can reduce and
manage risks of disaster
