PFFB Celebrates Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day with National Zeal and Enthusiasm

Islamabad — August 13, 2026: Pakistan Foundation Fighting Blindness (PFFB) organized a colourful and inspiring Independence Day celebration at its premises in Marquees Complex, Khanna Dak, Islamabad, bringing together more than 100 visually impaired persons from different walks of life.

The event was organized to celebrate the 79th Independence Day of Pakistan with national zeal and enthusiasm while providing persons with visual impairment an inclusive and meaningful opportunity to express their love for the country and participate in the national celebrations.

The event was graced by the presence of Mrs. Khurshid Niaz, a renowned social worker and mother of late Saima Niaz, Former CEO & Founder of PFFB Audio World, along with PFFB representatives, community members and a large number of visually impaired participants.

The programme highlighted the historic struggle for independence and the tremendous contributions of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and other leaders of the Pakistan Movement. Participants were reminded of the determination, sacrifices and unwavering commitment of those who worked tirelessly for the creation of Pakistan.

A variety of engaging activities made the celebration both informative and entertaining. These included an interactive quiz on important historical events of the independence movement, national songs and interesting recreational games. The activities provided participants with an opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and talents while enjoying the spirit of togetherness and national pride.

In his message, Mr. Abdullah Yousaf, Chairman PFFB, emphasized the importance of ensuring that persons with visual impairment are fully included in national celebrations. He said: “Pakistan belongs to all of us, and every citizen regardless of ability has an equal right to celebrate its freedom with pride and dignity. The sacrifices made by our forefathers remind us that a strong Pakistan is built through unity, resilience, compassion and equal opportunities for all. PFFB remains committed to empowering persons with visual impairment so that they can contribute meaningfully to the progress and prosperity of our beloved country.”

The celebration successfully fostered a strong sense of national pride, inclusion and community participation among persons with visual impairment. It also provided an important platform for participants to connect with one another, showcase their abilities and celebrate Pakistan's Independence Day in a welcoming and accessible environment.

The event concluded with renewed expressions of love for Pakistan and prayers for the country's peace, prosperity, unity and continued progress. PFFB reaffirmed its commitment to creating inclusive opportunities that enable persons with visual impairment to participate actively and equally in the social and national life of Pakistan
