Through its resilient infrastructure initiatives, Acted is strengthening community resilience by promoting bio-climatic construction techniques and training labor in safer, climate adapted building practices.

Adnan, one of the training participants, received hands-on capacity building training along with essential toolkits to enhance his expertise. Today, people from his village and nearby cities actively seek his services to build homes that are stronger, better ventilated, and more adapted to local climatic conditions.

With his improved skills, Adnan’s daily income has significantly increased, enabling him to support his family with dignity while contributing to safer and more communities.

Pakistan is a forest-poor country, with less than 6% of its total land covered by forests- WWF-Pakistan.

The floods of 2025 washed away trees and natural vegetation - weakening the land’s ability to protect communities from future shocks.

In response with the support of APHF Pakistan, Acted is implementing an initiative to not only restore what was lost, but to build resilience against future shocks.

The communities of Multan and Muzaffargarh are engaged under an inclusive plantation drive - each planting and dedicating a tree in their own name, fostering a deep sense of ownership, care, and long-term protection. 🌱

Because trees are natural shields against floods, it anchors the soil and considered as lifeline for sustainable communities.

Crises come and go - but vigilant nations are those that prepare, adapt, and act before challenges deepen.

In Pakistan, climate change is reshaping water availability, with rising temperatures, uneven rainfall, and prolonged dry spells becoming increasingly common.

Pakistan ranks 14th out of 17 countries facing extremely high-water risk (PIDE), making sustainable solutions urgent.

Under its ongoing BRAVE Project, supported by Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office and IOM Pakistan, Acted is constructing and rehabilitating rainwater harvesting ponds in Jaffarabad, Balochistan - capturing rainfall, conserving precious resources, and supporting communities to withstand climate uncertainty.

Acted, with the support of Crisis and Support Centre (CDCS), established Temporary Learning Centres for children at risk of losing their right to education following the life-altering floods of 2025 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.

Education remains at the heart of Acted’s interventions and is a top priority. Today, we proudly mark a step towards sustainable, community-led progress by handing over these centres to their rightful owners - the local community.

These learning spaces will continue to nurture young minds, ensuring the journey of education goes on without interruption 💙

Clean water became scarce the moment disasters took over.

Restoring safe water systems is not just about infrastructure, it’s about returning to normalcy. 💧
Under Acted's ongoing APHF Pakistan-funded project, we aim to provide WASH assistance to flood-affected communities in Punjab after the devastating floods of 2025.

As part of these efforts, the demarcation of hand pump sites has been completed - marking a crucial step towards restoring reliable water access.

We are moving closer to rebuild healthier communities - where basic needs persists and hope remains✨
