An open letter to the President People's Republic of China(PRC) to counter energy crises in Hunza valley and particularly in Gilgit-Baltistan by providing electricity/power connection to the mountainous region of Gilgit-Baltistan.
His Excellency Xi Jinping
President of the People's Republic of China
Beijing, China
Subject: Request for Electricity Connection to Hunza Valley, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan from Chinese Province XingXiang
Dear Honorable President Xi Jinping,
I am writing to respectfully request your esteemed government's assistance in providing electricity connection to the picturesque Hunza Valley in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan.
Hunza Valley, a popular tourist destination, is known for its breathtaking natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. However, despite its potential, the region still lacks reliable and consistent electricity supply, hindering its socio-economic development.
The local population, comprising around 80,000 people, faces immense difficulties due to the lack of electricity. Limited access to power severely impacts:
1. Education: Schools and educational institutions struggle to function effectively.
2. Healthcare: Medical facilities face challenges in providing quality healthcare services.
3. Economy: Local businesses, agriculture, and tourism suffer due to the absence of reliable electricity.
4. Quality of Life: Residents face difficulties in their daily lives, from lighting to communication.
In this context, we humbly request the Government of China to consider providing assistance for the establishment of a reliable electricity connection to Hunza Valley. This could be achieved through:
1. Construction of a hydroelectric power plant.
2. Extension of the existing power grid from nearby regions.
3. Provision of solar-powered energy solutions.
Such an initiative would not only improve the lives of the local population but also promote friendship and cooperation between China and Pakistan.
We believe that this project aligns with China's vision for regional development and cooperation, as outlined in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). We are confident that your government's support will have a positive impact on the region's socio-economic development.
Thank you for considering our request. We look forward to your favorable response.
Sincerely,
From the people of Hunza Valley.
Long live Pak-China Friendship
